The Jonas Brothers were just some of the artists who helped ring in the New Year in New York. It’s being said that police paid extra attention to their performance over anyone else’s as the cops worried about the performance causing a mob scene. It was said that the New York Police Department had placed extra security just for the Jonas Brothers performance in Times Square. It’s a good thing that all the young girls were able to behave and control themselves while the brothers were on stage. A mob scene wouldn’t have been the best way to start of the new year.

The male version of Amy Winehouse is back, sort of. It’s been eons since we heard about Babyshambles rocker and Kate Moss ex, and guess what he’s up to now – he’s ditching gigs. It’s not like it’s a shocker really. NME.com is reporting that Pete was supposed to turn up for a gig last weekend in London and bailed “at the 11th hour – just before he was due on.” The no-show was blamed on an arm injury. Then why did he have to bail at the very last minute? He could have said no to the gig when he learned of his arm injury.

I guess that no one’s safe from the recession as Bruce Springsteen is willing to do whatever it takes to sell his music. Bruce and the E Street Band have just announced that they will be releasing another greatest hits collection soon, exclusively through Wal-Mart. Bruce will also be releasing his new album ‘Working on a Dream’ later next month on January 27th. It’s good timing considering that he will also be performing during the half time show at the Superbowl on February 1st. As for the greatest hits album, it will hit Wal-Mart stores on January 13th. That’s a lot of publicity for the guy.

Amy Winehouse knows she’s a wreck or even more and fears that if her current ways with drugs and alcohol continues then she might well become the newest member of the “27 Club” - the tragic group of rock stars who died in their prime.

Amy has sung a song called Rehab and that where she has been for most of this year. Not only that she has had to spend most of last month as well in hospital after suffering an adverse reaction to medication. Alex Haines, a former aide to the 25-year-old has a different version of Amy’s fears – according to him the singer is obsessed with her own mortality.

Ha Ha 27 is not prime its lean, 37 is prime, 47 is brisket, 57 is shank, 67 is rump, 77 is hamburger, 87 is gristles, 97 is flies buzzing around your head and landing on sore bald spots.

Tommy Lee sat down for an interview with Playboy magazine where he talks about his partying ways. The Motley Crue drummer said “I have a Jager machine in my bus and one in the dressing room. I also have a new dressing-room rule, which I started over the summer: You must remove one article of clothing- your pants, your top- ore else you are not allowed in my dressing room. So in order to come back and dance and party you gotta take off some clothing. That gets the fucking party started so quick. Everyone’s walking around topless, and shit’s going, music’s bumping, girls are dancing on the table, and you’re like, Okay this is perfect.”

Reports are coming out that there are some marital problems between Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony. Jlo was recently spotted at the premiere of ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’ last week without her 8-carat diamond wedding ring and without her hubby. Marc was also spotted in Las Vegas the weekend before without his wedding band. Sources close to the couple are also saying that it’s over for the two with one source saying “They both didn’t wear their rings on purpose. Nothing Jennifer does is without purpose.” Another source adds that Marc is so controlling that he even picks out what she wears and monitors her phone calls. JLo is also said to be blaming Marc for having her career go down the tubes.

Rumors have been going around that Gwyneth Paltrow and her hubby, Coldplay front man, Chris Martin are having some marriage problems. The actress’ mom has spoken out about it though saying that the rumors aren’t true. Blythe Danner reacts to the comment that the couple hasn’t been photographed together in months saying “They don’t take pictures together if they can avoid it. It’s a strategy. They don’t want the pandemonium.” Mom says that they are just fine and that “They’re staying in England for the new year. Then coming here.” I think she’s just lying to protect Gwyneth and her grand kids.

Don’t even think about messing with Sharon Osbourne because she can kick some butt! During last weekend’s Saturday taping of the ‘Charm School: Rock of Love’ reunion show, ‘Rock of Love II’ contestant Megan got a beatdown from the foul-mouthed no-nonsense Sharon after a round of mudslinging. Megan is now accusing Ozzy’s wife of roughing her up, refusing to quit until security came and pried them apart. Megan ended up going to the hospital and filed a police report with the LAPD last week. The LAPD now has Sharon as a suspect in a minor battery but no charges have been filed.

Chris Cornell has just premiered the video for “Scream,” the title track off of his Timbaland produced album due out next year. Directed by Alan Ferguson (Fall Out Boy, Gym Class Heroes), the cinematic piece captures the two opposing moods of the song. “My role in the video is performing the song in super-slow-motion,” explains Cornell. “I’m existing in this Zen-like world, singing these song lyrics and everything going on around me is super-fast, super-chaotic, and I’m just suspended in it.”

The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus have just released the first video from their upcoming Lonely Road album. “You Better Pray” is directed by Tony Petrossian who has also worked with bands like Rise Against, Taking Back Sunday, and Slipknot among others. The clip also is the first to not include guitarist Elias Reidy who is no longer with the band.

Vocalist Ronnie Winter explains, “As some of you may already know or have noticed by now (album cover, new video, myspace, etc.), Elias is no longer with RJA, and has not been since late October. As history goes, RJA was started by Ronnie and Duke about seven years ago, and there have been seven lineup changes since then, especially in the guitar department, where Elias was the 5th replacement guitarist (such is life in a rock n roll band). Anyway, more on this shortly, but regardless have no fear - the core of RJA remains intact.”

No Line On The Horizon, the new studio album from U2, will be released in North America on Tuesday, March 3, 2009.

Written and recorded in various locations, No Line On The Horizon is the group’s 12th studio album and is their first release since the nine million selling album How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb, released in late 2004.

Sessions for No Line On The Horizon began last year in Fez, Morocco, and continued in the band’s own studio in Dublin, before moving to New York’s Platinum Sound Recording Studios. It was completed at Olympic Studios in London.

The album calls on the production talents of long-time collaborators Brian Eno and Danny Lanois, with additional production by Steve Lillywhite.

He may have been kicked to the curb already but Papa Roach’s ex drummer can still lay some claim on some loot. However, he claims that the band is screwing him out of the money he deserves. The band let go of drummer David Buckner on Christmas Eve last year but he claims that the band has been raking in hundreds of thousands in his absence and not giving him his proper cut. The rocker also says that his relationship with his former bandmates has become strained and antagonistic. In other words, they hate each other’s guts. In the lawsuit that Buckner filed, he said that he desires to dissolve Papa Roach.

American Idol insiders are saying that the 8th season of the show is going to look more like ‘Big Brother’ than a true singing competition. It is being said that producers have decided to show how the contestants interact with each other off the stage. They will be showing more of the behind the scenes footage than ever before. Here’s the thing though, they already took a lot of time by having a lot of commercials and now they’re taking more time away from the singing by going the reality show route. Also, Paula Abdul is not going to be replaced but there will be a 4th judge. How many times do you need to hear that you suck after only being able to sing for 30 seconds?

What the hell is anthrophobia?

Simply stated, anthrophobia is a fear of people?

That’s a real condition?

How could that be possible?

He’s done the nasty with countless groupies and he’s afraid of people???

How do you go from groupies and orgies to suddenly being afraid of everyone?

Is he high?

According to reports, his condition has gotten worse. And with the release of his Chinese Democracy album you’d think Axl would be out promoting it, but that’s not the case.

Sad.

Someone should see a shrink ASAP!
