Mariah Carey is Expensive
The World Music Awards featured about 15 minutes worth of Mariah Carey air time but that short amount of time doesn’t come cheap. The show organizers awarded her with a Special Achievement honor but to get the diva to pick up the award at the ceremony in Monte Carlo, Monaco, they had to shell out a mind boggling amount. UK’s Daily Mail reports that Mariah demanded a $156,000 private jet for transport to the ceremony in Monte Carlo and a $15,600 a night penthouse suite at the exclusive Hotel de Paris for two nights. She also allegedly asked for the same VIP treatment at the hotel for her 15-strong entourage of stylists and personal assistants. And since the hotel kitchen wasn’t up to her standards, she had a world renowned chef brought to the hotel to cook her a private meal. The chef’s service cost around $20,000.
