On Monday, Sir Paul McCartney said that negotiations had stalled between the Beatles’ holding company and EMI regarding digital downloads of their songs. According to the icon, the Beatles have been pushing for a download deal but that there are a couple f sticking points. He suggested that EMI would not meet Apple Corp’s terms. Sir Paul goes on to add “What else is new?” Until both sides get to a compromise, no music from the Beatles can be legally downloaded online. For the love of music, let’s hope that they get it resolved soon. The Beatles may be one of the few rock icons left that can’t be found in the list of legal downloads yet.
