Jack White and his new band

The musician has apparently started a new band called The Dead Weather only recently. The project seems to have sprung up out of nowhere, as Jack White himself relates: “The idea was to do a 7-inch single and be done with it, but we started writing songs and something happened.” Side-projects like this don’t really last, especially given the immense amount of commitment that’s just pouring from Jack White’s words. Still, I ask myself: what was the deal with the 7’’ single? What is that, some sort of way of getting the record company a few bucks by doing a last minute tape? Oh, God bless the artist’s spirit and determination!
