Beastie Boys’ Adam Yauch is battling cancer

Beastie Boy Adam Yauch is battling cancer, it was announced last night (Mon).
The musician and filmmaker has revealed he has a ‘very treatable’ cancerous tumour in his salivary gland.
The news has forced the band to cancel its summer tour dates and put back the release of an album.
Yauch, 43, will require surgery and other treatments for the disease, which is confined to one area.
He talked about his diagnosis in a video posted online by the Beastie Boys.
“It’s a pain in the neck (sorry had to say it) because I was really looking forward to playing these shows, but the doctors have made it clear that this is not the kind of thing that can be put aside to deal with later,” Yauch said in a statement.
