X-Factor’s Lucie supports Jedward after losing out

An X-Factor contestant eliminated in the nail-biting race with Jedward has come out and said she thinks the widely panned twins’ act is good.
Lucie Jones said: “It’s not called ‘The best singer in Britain’, it’s called The X-Factor and it’s the performance aspect as well as the voice. The twins have definitely got the voice, no matter what people say about them. They might get nervous, I don’t know, but they can sing – they’re not all over the place, they perform well, they work hard.”
Jones was on the brink of being pushed through to the next round when Simon Cowell shocked the nation by stepping in to vote for Jedward aka John and Edward Grimes.
The twins had performed to the boos of the audience in the ITV studio. They were dissed by Cowell’s fellow judges Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole. Only Louis Walsh had voted for them.
The women judges solidly backed Jones. She added: “Dannii was upset and angry last night but so was I. We’re close and it was just upsetting. I think the twins could win it, I think anything could happen this year. They’re immensely popular, and being in the bottom two doesn’t mean anything because [contestant] Danyl’s the favourite, always has been, and he’s been in the bottom two.”
