Probably not the most popular band in the world, but apparently the professionals’ choice when it comes to NME Magazine where The Strokes apparently made first place at the category “album of the decade” with their 2001 release: “Is this it”. NME’s editor had this to say about the list that The Strokes topped off: “This is the definitive word on the greatest albums of the ’00s – as voted for by everyone who helped make music brilliant this decade.” Is this some sort of sick joke? A band called “The Strokes” get the best album of the decade award for an LP called “Is this it” in the year that Michael Jackson dies? If it’s not a joke, it’s damned strange coincidence.
