Pete Doherty’s German festival mishap
It seems that after his near-death experience, Pete Doherty thought he might want to live it up a little since he might not have that much to go on. So, he decided that a proper experience to begin with would be to piss-off his German fans by singing some banned Nazi verses during his show. Of course, Pete Doherty had an explanation for this, namely hearing the music as a child: “Growing up in army barracks I remember hearing a lot of army-related songs, mostly about Hitler’s genitalia, the quartermaster’s stores and one perennial favorite that went something like, ‘left, right, left,’ which I could always hear belting out from the parade square.” So, where was the part where Pete Doherty was off of the fairy-powder that made him lose his abilities of rational behavior? Singing Nazi verses at a German music festival? You have to be a really, really “special” state of mind to actually do that.
