The singer has recently admitted that she doesn’t have the habit of shying away from just throwing her money at her friends and family and even at charities. This is what Adele said on the matter: ‘The cash has started trickling in, but I don’t come from any money so I help people. I give money to charity and to friends and family.” Such a lovely fact to know about one of the UK’s most successful artists… after admitting to this particular fact, Adele might just notice a rise in her number of friends or in the number of people that wish to be true friends with her.

Adele has broken records for staying 11 straight weeks at the top spot in the UK for her album “21”. Then the singer got knocked down for a week by the Foo Fighters. But Adele has found her way back to the top and is now on her 14th week reigning the charts. That is totally incredible. I’m so happy for her and I know she deserves every bit of success that she’s getting. How poetic would it be if “21” will be at the top spot for 21 weeks? Actually, I think Adele deserves more time than that to be at the top.

Actually, the British singer has recently admitted that there are some specific parts of Katy Perry that she likes very much… and not just of Katy Perry, but of other artists too for that matter. This is what Adele had to say: “I love seeing Lady Gaga’s boobs and bum and I love seeing Katy Perry’s boobs and bum. Love it. But that’s not what my music is about. I don’t make music for eyes. I make music for ears.” Well, well, color Adele sarcastic there a bit. She has quite the subtle way of commenting on the artistry of her fellow singers.

Despite all the bad press that he’s gotten recently, Chris Brown is still doing pretty well for himself. The R&B singer is still confirmed for Dancing with the Stars, he was invited back to Good Morning America and now, it’s being said that he’s leading the way in album charts with sales in the 250,000-275,000 range for his new album “FAME”. So far, his album holds the runner up spot to Adele. Jennifer Hudson couldn’t even come close to Chris with her new album “I Remember Me” hitting 150,000-175,000 in sales. It’s not that bad but considering I find her more likeable, I wonder if people are glorifying Chris too much.

It seems the singer is quite the fan of the band Mumford & Sons and she recently admitted that she was actually rooting for them during the BRIT Awards. This is what Adele said on the matter: “I’m rooting for Mumford & Sons. I love everyone else but they’re my favorites. That Mumford record was me and my Ex’s album. If it wasn’t for that album I don’t think I’d be as emotionally drained as I am and not as emotionally exhausted and not been able to write this album. So I’ve got to be a bit thankful really cos it’s doing really well!” Strange that it takes emotional drainage for Adele to be able to write music, but who can truly know the mind of an artist?

The singer who recently won the Grammy for Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance ran into a bit of trouble with her mother because she had chewing gum in her mouth when she went to collect the reward. Adele related the incident: “When the award for Best New Artist was announced, I was so convinced that the Jonas Brothers or Duffy were going to win, I wasn’t prepared at all. I’d undone my belt and I had chewing gum in my mouth. I nearly cried during my speech but I thought, ‘No, I can’t because of the Kate Winslet Golden Globe moment. One British person doing that is enough for one year.’ When I came off stage and rang my mum to tell her, she was like, ‘Yeah, I saw… you had gum in your mouth!’ I don’t think she was impressed!” Well, I guess Adele did her own service to the British way of receiving awards for this year. Bugger… now no other British performer can come up on stage to receive a reward with chewing gum in their mouths… what a damn shame.

Rolling Stones legend Mick Jagger has given roly-poly singer Adele his rock royalty seal of approval. Lucky girl.

Snake-hipped Mick warmed to the Brit-winning star when he sat opposite her at a lavish party hosted by his daughter Jade at a posh London restaurant.

Snooty fashionistas choked on their watercress salad as Adele steamed into her dinner a bit too enthusiastically. She stuffed down her grub using her fingers and complained that her steak was raw, after it had been deliberately cooked medium rare.

But the South London songstress made a great impression on Mick, who was overheard telling Jade: “That girl is ace, man.”

One guest at the plush Automat said: “When people started mocking Adele’s table manners good old Mick leapt to her defence saying he loved her ‘couldn’t care less’ attitude. He said it was refreshing to meet someone like her. When Jade then told him Adele was the Chasing Pavements singer he knew the song and said they should get together for a gig.”

That’s a collaboration I’d love to hear.

Adele confessed she was starstruck as she chatted to wrinkly rocker Mick at the Belvedere Jagger Dagger bash to launch a $250,000 jewelled ice pick Jade has designed for the vodka giant.

Adele said: “I couldn’t believe it when I realised I was sitting opposite Mick Jagger. I was really nervous. I wasn’t making any sense when I was talking to him but he was really charming.”

I love it that Adele mopped up her dinner with her fingers — and it was even better when she later trundled out of the restaurant with a cocktail in hand, looking worse for wear.

The way she refuses to conform to showbiz stereotypes is a breath of fresh air.
