The rapper will not only be coming back, but he will be coming back in a very big way. It looks like Ice Cube plans on reuniting with Dr. Dre on his upcoming album, “I am the west”. This is what the rapper wrote on the matter on his blog: “I wanna answer a few questions you have for ya’ boy – Beats by Dre? Not yet. Haven’t asked him, but I will. Any collabos? Not yet. I would give you guys the concept but I’mma save that and let you see it for yourself. Now I know it seems like my record is West Coast crazy- Yeah it is. But I got a lot of real shit to say on this record just like I always do. So my political fans won’t be disappointed.” Well, none of Ice Cube’s fans will probably be disappoint it. After all, what reason would Dr. Dre have to turn his old war-buddy down? It’s not like he’s got anything better to do.
The lead singer of the band the Foo Fighters, Dave Grohl, has recently announced that they are beginning to work on their seventh studio album. Dave said “Foo Fighters have just started writing and we’re going to start recording in September so life is full of music.” Let’s hope for the best and get ready for the worst since their last albums haven’t really be as good as their earlier stuff. Dave has also been performing with the band Them Crooked Vultures, a super group with Queens of Stone Age member Josh Homme and Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones. I hope Dave can bring the interesting sound from his side project onto the new Foo Fighters album.
It does seem that a breath of fresh air is needed around this sector as all American Idol-related record sales seem to have gone down the past week. Maybe it is just a minor setback before the great revelation that is to be this season even though the female performances of last night were not as amazing as was hoped. Still, there is promise of the future and that promise probably has The X Factor written all over it. After all, Simon Cowell may be a good sport, but when it comes to sinking your own boat, the Earl of Exigency is probably not that good a captain.
It seems the singer’s latest record was not released on Super Bowl Sunday as intended and isn’t going to see the inside of a store until Usher signs the deal with his management. This is what a source said about Usher’s setback, which is apparently due to him not getting along professionally with his former manager, Jonetta Patton, his own mother: “She walked away from the project because Usher had his girlfriend Grace Miguel all in the mix. She felt as though if she didn’t end things when she did, it would permanently affect their personal relationship.” Way to stick for the family there! Surely Usher appreciates what his mother did for him, making his album late and all that. Guess who’s getting a very special cheese-cake this Mother’s Day?
After releasing his long-awaited comeback, “Relapse”, in May, Eminem promised that there will be a follow-up called “Relapse 2” later this year, but he has recently announced that he will be postponing it until 2010. But he’s not going to leave his fans hanging for Christmas, no sir! Eminem is going to re-release “Relapse” and also throw in seven bonus tracks for all those of you kids waiting patiently at home. What’s Eminem trying to pull here anyway? What, is he really relapsing and he isn’t sure he can do it a second time? But then again, one must never rush a true artist… he takes the time he takes, right?
Well, well, no sleep for the lip-synch singers. Well, after not getting such a warm greeting as she was expecting in Australia, Britney Spears has a lot of extra energy from all the anger and she plans to put that energy to good use. Britney Spears will be collaborating with producer Max Martin and songwriter Sean Garrett and it seems there will be a new album with her name on it out in the coming spring. It seems Britney Spears isn’t wasting any time… she probably doesn’t have enough songs to “sing” in concerts any more and needs new stuff to be able to dazzle the world with her artistic prowess.
The band is apparently thinking about taking on a new direction in their music so they are planning for their next album to be a rave one. Their singer, Johnny Borrell, said the following about their next record: “It’s going to be a different sound. I want to collaborate with someone. I’m thinking a house music extravaganza.” Right… considering the reviews they got on their last record, “I want to collaborate with someone” sounds more like Razorlight’s running out of that old voodoo that they do… well, in this case, did. Oh well, it’s probably too late for Razorlight to go out in the blaze of glory now so they’ll probably have to make the best of getting out of the mud first… onwards to the rave!

The guitarist from The Rolling Stones will be recording a new solo album and is drawing to his recent split from his former wife Jo Wood for inspiration. A source said the following about Ronnie Wood’s upcoming release: “Ronnie had a pretty turbulent year breaking up with Jo and finding new love with Ekaterina Ivanova so he’s got plenty to write about on his new record.” This one will probably be a real blockbuster! Just imagine Ronnie Wood singing about how he ended his marriage because of drinking in Ireland with a Russian waitress… now that makes for one hell of a record.

It looks like it is going to be a very strong 2009 for rock band, Hollywood Undead.
According to recent reports, Hollywood Undead’s album, Swan Songs has topped its own best sales numbers in multiple weeks since its debut. Hit single “Undead” as tracks “Everywhere I go,” and “City,” have also drawn a significant amount of attention from radio and fans alike.
The band has been reported as the fastest selling developing rock band, reaching the Top 15 in modern & Top 10 in active rock radio, as well as hottest night record of the year. Look for them on the Saints and Sinners Tour which kicks off February 27th in Fr. Lauderdale. Check out their MySpace page to find a show near you!
For the first time ever, a musical act will be hogging the stage of a talk show by performing five nights in a row on the Late Show with David Letterman. The band selected to do so is none other than iconic rock band U2. The band will guest on the show on March 2 through March 6 and with their new album ‘No Line on the Horizon’, heading to stores on March 3, I’m pretty certain that we will be subjected to the musical monstrosity that is ‘Get on Your Boots’. I’m at least hoping that it’s just going to be one performance and that they will bring out some of their classics or even a new song that is much much better than their current single.

The singer’s manager, Tim Clark, recently mentioned that Robbie Williams will release only two more albums with EMI, in accordance to his contract. Tim Clark said: “Robbie’s got a Best Of to come on his contract after releasing a new album this year. He will then look to his future. We will engage with a range of people and Robbie will have his ideas.” Wait a minute… didn’t Kanye West mention something about Robbie Williams being in rehab a while back? And what about the aliens, I mean look at him! The man desperately wants to get around the best of the universal circles. Robbie Williams is very likely to start a new pop group that will sing songs intended to bring our intergalactic friends closer to discovering us. I’m sure that it will also be a very monstrous record deal, especially if the somehow manages to involve scientology in it.
