If anyone was bummed about Avril Lavigne’s latest album “Goodbye Lullaby”, fret not as the Canadian pop rock singer recently revealed that she’s already recording for her fifth studio album. Avril said “I already have 8 songs! I would like to release the 5th album really quick. This record was more mellow, and the next one will be pop and more fun again. I already have a song that I know is going to be a single, I just need to re-record it!” That’s good news considering how I don’t think “Goodbye Lullaby” has any singles left to produce. I just hope this one that she’s working on won’t have as many delays like last time.

The Killers’ drummer, Ronnie Vannucci, recently revealed that the band already has a pile of songs ready for their upcoming album and that they plan to meet on May 17th to begin writing sessions together. The rock star explained “Tuesday [May 17] I think we start doing some writing again. We have piles of songs we want to show each other. We’re going to get back in that room and start working.” That’s what I like to hear! I hope their hiatus means that they’ve got some pretty exciting music ready to develop together as a band. I can’t wait to hear what they come up with.

In a recent interview, Nick Jonas described his brother Joe Jonas’ upcoming solo as “different” sounding than the stuff they used to do as a band, but equally as “amazing”. The young singer said “Joe’s record’s really coming together nicely. It’s a really quality record. I listened to it in the car, and I was just loving it.” That’s nice to hear but how reliable is it when Nick is talking about his brother after all. Oh well, at least we know they still support each other while they’re doing other stuff. Nick and Joe are both working on solo projects while oldest brother Kevin Jonas is living the married life.

Smashing Pumpkins is kicking off a three-year program this fall by releasing expanded versions of their breakthrough album “Siamese Dream”, followed by “Gish” and “Pisces Iscariot”. Fans of the popular 90s alternative rock band may already have those but if you’ve missed the grunge era, this is a great way to catch up on your music history. The band’s lead singer and only original member Billy Corgan made the announcement with EMI Music earlier this week, saying “What makes the deal with EMI groundbreaking is the band has secured the right to all unreleased materials and will be in charge of any additional releases based on our discretion. In essence, the band has the keys to the warehouse and can release whatever we want, when we want it.” Could this mark the return of 90s rock?

That might not sound like a very big deal, but it actually is since the Radiohead’s new album, “The King of Limbs” is available for download on their site and it was released today, instead of tomorrow as was initially planned. An official statement on Radiohead’s site reads as follows: “With everything ready on their website, the band decided to bring forward the release by a day as there was no need to wait until the planned date of Saturday Feb 19 to deliver the music.” How much more simple things prove to be when an album can be downloaded… Radiohead’s fans are probably very happy with this early release and their ticket sales for concerts will probably reflect it all.

Paris Hilton recently said that she has some new music on the way and that her album will drop in the next few months. As if that wasn’t a huge sign of something bad to come, the heiress, sometime singer and sometime actress wouldn’t fess up as to who she’s been collaborating with or who any of her producers are or even what label will be putting her album out. She’s basically playing coy and I’m skeptical as to why. Who could she have gotten to help her on the record that’s worth keeping quiet about? If she’s doing this to build suspense for her record, she better follow up with something huge. But since it’s her, I highly doubt it.

It looks like this year is going to be packed with new releases. Travis Barker, Blink-182’s drummer, recently tweeted about his own upcoming solo album, but also the upcoming album of the band. This is what he wrote on the matter: “For those of you asking GIVE THE DRUMMER SOME is out March 15th and BLINK album is out THIS SUMMER!” Well it’s about time Blink-182 came out with a new record for their fans to spin. It’s been what… eight years since the last one? Hopefully the band have channeled all of this time into some serious creative work and the wait will have been worth it.

If you’re sitting at the edge of your seat waiting for when Britney Spears’ new album is going to drop, I’ve got some news for you. The pop singer’s seventh album will allegedly be released on March 15th. Sony’s official site has a link where you can pre-order Britney’s new album with the mid-March release date. With her latest single “Hold it Against Me” already breaking records, I can’t wait to hear the rest of the album. I can only hope that the rest of the music is as great, or even greater, than the first single. How about you?

It was probably about freaking time too since it’s been seven years since their last album. Now Blink-182 is apparently getting ready to release a new one… somewhere in the future. This is what Mark Hoppus had to say on the matter: “We’ve gone through a lot of really heavy stuff over the past few years. … There’s plenty of heavy stuff to write about. I think in moments it will be dark. We’re still just barely getting into the whole writing process. We have about three or four songs done. I wouldn’t say it’s going to be a dark record; I think it’s really an expansive record. There’s stuff that sounds like what we were doing on the last Blink record, and there’s stuff that sounds like what we were doing 10 years ago and stuff that we’ve never done before.” Sure sounds like recycling… except for the stuff they haven’t done before. Those will probably be covers. Well, hopefully that’s not all Blink-182 will have to offer.

Unlike Jessica Simpson who’s had a rough week with her Christmas album, Josh Groban is celebrating the holiday early. The singer must be feeling the love this week as not only is his new album “Illumination” at the number 9 spot on the Billboard top 200 but his classic Christmas album “Noel” climbed back to number 18 as well. That’s two albums on the chart in one week. Congratulations to Josh for achieving such success. Jessica should be taking notes from this guy if she wants to resurrect her music career. Josh clearly knows what he’s doing and she’s just lost.

The singer who only just recently celebrated her birthday was supposedly so moved by the good wishes from her fans that she decided to reward them with the release date of her upcoming album. This is what Britney Spears wrote on twitter on the matter: “Just wanted to thank all of you for the amazing birthday wishes you guys have been sending all day. My fans mean the world to me & waking up to all of your wishes really made me smile, so here’s something that I hope will make you smile… I’m almost done with my new album and it will be coming out this March. I AM IN L-O-V-E WITH IT! Ok, off on a romantic weekend with Jason for my birthday.” It’s very optimistic of Britney Spears to be in love with her own album since not all of her fans may end up feeling the same way.

Josh Groban has released his fifth studio album called ‘Illuminations’ yesterday. For this album, the 29-year old singer worked with veteran producer Rick Rubin, known for his critically acclaimed work with Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Johnny Cash and Dixie Chicks among many others. Those artists are definitely a far cry from the type of music that Josh does so I’m curious about this album. Josh also co-wrote majority of the songs including ‘Hidden Away’ which was recorded live with him singing and playing the piano. It sounds good enough to buy even without hearing much of it yet. Will you be grabbing Josh’s new album?

In a recent interview with Taylor Swift, the country singer told sources that she had her doubts about her new album ‘Speak Now’. She said “I have a lot of anxiety about things on certain days, but I have anxiety because I care. It’s not anxiety that’s crippling, it’s a five-minute conversation with myself about if a [sales] number really defines this piece of art that I’ve created and what that means, and what the number’s going to be. I try to predict what it’s going to be, and then I realize that I can’t predict what it’s going to be, and then I sit there and say something to myself like, ‘Well, you’re happy today. Enjoy this and be proud of the music that you’ve made’.” Someone should remind her that she is one of the most lucrative artists of the last 5 years. She has nothing to worry about.

Boys from Kings of Leon have announced the release of their fifth album, “Come Around Sundown”, which will take place on October 18. For this album, the band worked with producers Angelo Petraglia and Jacquie King, who collaborated with the famous band for the album “Only By the Night” in 2008. The first single extracted from the album, “Night” has sold more than 1.9 million copies.
Also, the band announced that fans can hear a few new songs in premier at the V Festival to be held this month in Britain. Last month, the band decided to abandon a concert in Missouri after bassist Jared Followill was splattered with pigeon droppings.

Britney Spears might release a new album in the next few weeks. The producer Rodney Jerkins declared to US Stream that the fans of Britney Spears will be very happy in the next few weeks. This information is the first news appearing about a future Britney Spears material, after Britney confirmed in March that she is working on a new album. Danka and Predator Dud Assasins recently revealed that they have been working in the studio together with Britney. Her last album “Circus” was released in 2008’s December, and her last single released was “3”, in 2009.

Lady Gaga donated an “artwork” to an online shop, Showstudio. The piece was exposed in an exhibition in London. The work of art is in fact a white urinal, that has an inscription in black on the inside of it. The urinal, also named Armitage Shanks, was used by Lady Gaga during a photo shoot for the Vogue Hommes Japan pictorial, where she was playing a man. The inscription inside the urinal refers to Marcel Duchamp, an artist who used a urinal for one of his creations named “Fountain”. The piece is not for sale, at least not yet.
