Sean Paul is back with a new song called “Got 2 Luv U”, which comes off of the rapper’s upcoming yet untitled fifth album that has no release date as of now. The Alexis Jordan-assisted track was released on iTunes back in July and has performed nicely in a lot of European countries. Now, Sean Paul is finally ready to do some promo for the song, with the first move being the premiere of its music video. It’s a nice video but nothing notable. Sean Paul sports a spiky Mohawk, enjoys the company of some ladies in his hotel room and then hits downstairs to smash it on the club. Mind you, Alexis looks flawless in every scene she’s in.

Rihanna says that she’s got some new music ready for all her fans. I initially thought that she was going to drop a repackage of her “Loud” album but some are saying that the Barbadian R&B singer is actually going to skip that and just give us a whole new album. Though Rihanna confirms that things are pretty much all set, she’s still staying pretty mum on things until her latest single “Cheers” reaches the top spot. She took to her Twitter to tease “Yassss! Yaaayy I can’t wait to start filling u guys in on some details!! *Zips lips*. after CHEERS becomes #1.”

Nickelback has a new album called “Here and Now” coming out way on November 21. It’s been 3 years since Nickelback released an album and lead singer Chad Kroeger assures fans that they won’t be disappointed. He said “We’re four people who love making music, the way we like to make it. We entered the studio this year with a vision, and it all came together. We’re extremely happy with the results, and can’t wait to share them with our fans.” The rock band’s seventh studio record will include the two new singles that will be released later this month, “When We Stand Together” and “Bottoms Up”. You can expect to hear those new songs on pop and rock radio stations on September 26.

Evanescence landed their very own MTV Special last night where the Amy Lee-led rock band performed their new single “What You Want” live for the first time from the cable network’s studios in Nashville. The performance was absolutely phenomenal. I was worried about hearing this live with how big the song’s production was but I have to say that one should never doubt Amy and her band. The performance was followed by an insightful interview and Q&A session with fans. If you’ve been longing for more Evanescence music, the band’s third album, which will be self-titled, will hit stores on October 11th.

In celebration of twenty years since the release of Nirvana’s first album, Nevermind, Universal Strategic Marketing brings to the forefront it’s re-release in various formats.
Deluxe and Super Deluxe editions will include a multitude of rare or unreleased tracks until now.
Released in September 1991, the album signed by Nirvana, Nevermind, raised Kurt Cobain, Kris Novoselic and Dave Grohl from the cult band status in Aberdeen, Washington, to spokesmen of a generation, managing a cultural change and laying the foundations of a new musical revolution.
Coming in first place by the end of that year and reaching, finally, sellings of 30 million copies worldwide, Nevermind became more than one of the most successful albums of that period or any period in general.
Re-released Nirvana – Nevermind – 20 years anniversary edition is also available in deluxe format that includes two CDs containing the remastered album, B-sides, the Smart Studio sessions, rehearsals and sessions at BBC, in vinyl format including four LPs that include the same 40 tracks as on the deluxe edition, standard edition of the original album remastered CD and digital versions of standard and deluxe editions.

If you’re anything like me, you’re extremely excited about No Doubt’s first album in over a decade. Things seem to be going really well for the rock band, who are currently in the studio. It has recently been revealed via Twitter that No Doubt is working with Major Lazer. Their guitarist tweeted “We’re working on 3 different songs tonight [sic] in 3 different rooms in the same studio complex, all at once. Like magic, somehow it works. @majorlazer in one of those rooms. Cutting drums with Adrian [Young] at the moment.” Major Lazer, made up of DJs Diplo and Switch, is more of an electronic/dancehall/hip hop influenced duo so I’m curious to see what kind of music they have for No Doubt.

Mastodon, the metal band from Atlanta will release their new album “The Hunter” this fall. The album cover has already been released and it was created by the folk artist A.J. Fosik. With a chromatics dominated by a bright red the picture is presenting us an animal from another dimension, terrified by the society hunting him down. Until the moment of release the song “Deathbond” can be downloaded from http://www.adultswim.com/singles This song was created during the recordings for “Crack the Skye” . The video is shocking in the Mastodon style and it is in the top videos of the history of progressive metal.

If anyone was bummed about Avril Lavigne’s latest album “Goodbye Lullaby”, fret not as the Canadian pop rock singer recently revealed that she’s already recording for her fifth studio album. Avril said “I already have 8 songs! I would like to release the 5th album really quick. This record was more mellow, and the next one will be pop and more fun again. I already have a song that I know is going to be a single, I just need to re-record it!” That’s good news considering how I don’t think “Goodbye Lullaby” has any singles left to produce. I just hope this one that she’s working on won’t have as many delays like last time.

It seems that the band will be taking a little time off, but that doesn’t mean that the genius of will.i.am’s songwriting will go to rest. Fergie has revealed that he might just be releasing his own solo album in the near future. This is what she said on the matter: “I believe Will is coming out with a solo album. I’ve heard it. It’s called ’Black Einstein’ and it’s amazing. I’ve been waiting for him to come out with this for so long because I want it. He won’t give it to me. I want it for the gym. He’s so amazing – just such a genius lyricist and I’m really excited for his project. I am so excited to take a break. The guys know that I’ve been waiting and it’s time.” Perhaps it would have behooved Fergie to wait for will.i.am to make such an announcement himself, but then again… if he tests her patience so.

The singer has recently been confirmed to star in the “Hunger Games” movie, but this apparently isn’t going to stop Lenny Kravitz from focusing on his music. The singer has also announced that he will be releasing his new album on August 22nd and to top it all off he also has a European Tour in mind after that. It’s amazing how musicians today can juggle their singing careers with acting… it doesn’t seem to go too well the other way around, though. Or maybe Lenny Kravitz just has a gift… him and many others who are following down the same path.

The Killers’ drummer, Ronnie Vannucci, recently revealed that the band already has a pile of songs ready for their upcoming album and that they plan to meet on May 17th to begin writing sessions together. The rock star explained “Tuesday [May 17] I think we start doing some writing again. We have piles of songs we want to show each other. We’re going to get back in that room and start working.” That’s what I like to hear! I hope their hiatus means that they’ve got some pretty exciting music ready to develop together as a band. I can’t wait to hear what they come up with.

Smashing Pumpkins is kicking off a three-year program this fall by releasing expanded versions of their breakthrough album “Siamese Dream”, followed by “Gish” and “Pisces Iscariot”. Fans of the popular 90s alternative rock band may already have those but if you’ve missed the grunge era, this is a great way to catch up on your music history. The band’s lead singer and only original member Billy Corgan made the announcement with EMI Music earlier this week, saying “What makes the deal with EMI groundbreaking is the band has secured the right to all unreleased materials and will be in charge of any additional releases based on our discretion. In essence, the band has the keys to the warehouse and can release whatever we want, when we want it.” Could this mark the return of 90s rock?

That might not sound like a very big deal, but it actually is since the Radiohead’s new album, “The King of Limbs” is available for download on their site and it was released today, instead of tomorrow as was initially planned. An official statement on Radiohead’s site reads as follows: “With everything ready on their website, the band decided to bring forward the release by a day as there was no need to wait until the planned date of Saturday Feb 19 to deliver the music.” How much more simple things prove to be when an album can be downloaded… Radiohead’s fans are probably very happy with this early release and their ticket sales for concerts will probably reflect it all.

Paris Hilton recently said that she has some new music on the way and that her album will drop in the next few months. As if that wasn’t a huge sign of something bad to come, the heiress, sometime singer and sometime actress wouldn’t fess up as to who she’s been collaborating with or who any of her producers are or even what label will be putting her album out. She’s basically playing coy and I’m skeptical as to why. Who could she have gotten to help her on the record that’s worth keeping quiet about? If she’s doing this to build suspense for her record, she better follow up with something huge. But since it’s her, I highly doubt it.
