The U.S. band Green Day made a song in memory of Amy Winehouse. The song is called “Amy.”
Green Day seemed to be writing a song to honor the memory of the late British artist, Amy Winehouse. Song called “Amy” and it was sung for the first time in a small show held at the Tiki Bar 1700 Placentia last week.
Green Day have posted later a message on their official site where they are thanking fans for attending the charity show, organized to raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Also, the band have posted the lyrics of the song “Amy” which, although was not explicitly stated as being about the British singer, includes lyrics like “27 Gone Without a Trace” suggesting that the song could be dedicated to Amy Winehouse .
The band is currently working on a new album. Moreover, during the show at Tiki Bar 1700 Placentia, Green Day played 15 new songs that are about to be included in the new album material.
Some of Amy Winehouse’s belongings disappeared from her house after thieves have broken in, announces The Sun.
The artist’s father, who was on vacationing with his family to mourn his daughter, suspects that the thieves are acquaintances of Amy.
Mitch Winehouse found out from the singer’s manager that from the house are missing several copies of her new songs composed recently, lyrics, a guitar, and some letters.
On July 23, the day when Amy Winehouse was found dead, over 20 people had free access to the house, among them are relatives, friends, guards and police.
When he’ll return from vacation, Mitch Winehouse will do his best to find out who broke into the house and promises that the guilty one will not go unpunished. ‘Mitch wants to give the offenders a chance to repair their mistake and put back what they stole, so it won’t take an ugly turn’ said a close friend of the Winehouse family to The Sun.
In an interview with Rolling Stonemagazine, Jared Leto (30 Seconds To Mars) said that Amy’s death made him remember the days when he used to consume drugs.
Growing up in a hippie environment, conducive to drug use, the artist remembered the frustration and pain that are an important part of the life of a drug addict, and unfortunately, the lives of those around him: “Addiction is a brutal and cruel state that destroys not only the addict but also those close to him / her”.
The singer has shown deep disappointment about what was written in the press about her and about those who judge Amy for her style of life: “The next time a person displays a drug addict behavior, instead of using it as a subject for tabloids, they would rather help the person. Laughing at a person’s behavior in the anguish of addiction and treating it as entertainment, is no less unforgivable than to laugh at someone who has started to deteriorate due to damage caused by any chronic disease”.
Leto added that Amy Winehouse’s death is heartbreaking loss, not only of an extremely talented artist but also a beautiful woman at the beginning of her life: “I understand that the cause of death was not yet determined, but it is quite obvious that she suffered deeply for many years. I feel sorry for her and those around her, the pain during those years and this tragic end. ”
The band U2 dedicated to Amy Winehouse the single Stuck In A Moment You Can’t Get Out Of in the concert held Saturday at TCF Stadium in Minneapolis.
The artists have composed the song for former INXS singer Michael Hutchence, friend of the members of U2, who committed suicide in 1997.
On July 23, the song became a tribute to Amy Winehouse, just four hours after the discovery of the corpse at her house in London.
Before singing the song, Bono told the audience:
‘I wrote the following song for Michael Hutchence, but you will understand why tonight we sing it for Amy Winehouse’ said the singer.
Amy Winehouse was cremated on July 26, three days after her sudden disappearance.
Metropolitan Police opened an investigation at St Pancras Coroner’s Judicial Court, a specialized court in cases of violent and suspicious deaths.
Now, the police, but also relatives and fans of the artist are waiting for toxicology results to determine what killed the singer. Tests will be ready only after several weeks.
The aspiring 14-year-old god-daughter of Amy Winehouse has her sights set on EastEnders.
Dionne Bromfield, who was interviewed in The Independent, made public her desire to appear in a cameo role on the long-running soap.
“If they are reading this, please give me a cameo,” she told the paper.
Bromfield added that she admired one of the show’s best-loved characters: “I love Stacey Slater.”
Meanwhile, Bromfield will get some practice in with her godmother on a new BBC-3 show that aptly captures stars who mentor someone. In the Winehouse-Bromfield case, that would be an understatement.
Winehouse last year launched a record label, Lionness Records, with the express purpose of promoting her protege.
Sources are saying that the Libertines, the former rock band of Pete Doherty, will be staging a reunion this summer for the first time in six years. The band is said to be headlining the Reading and Leeds festival, raking in an estimated $2.3 million for the gig. That’s all fine and dandy except for one tiny little detail. Does anyone really think that Pete can stay out of jail for that long or at least stay awake long enough to actually get through the performance? I say it’s not worth it. Pete, Lily Allen and Amy Winehouse are in a class of their own with these types of things.
Not to Jamaica at least… the recent rumor that the singer might take her soon-to-be-again husband Blake Fielder-Civil with her to Jamaica has been cleared up as being nonsense by one of Amy Winehouse’s representatives: “He isn’t going out there, no. The whole point of the trip is to record out there, she has a whole album of songs written and has worked on it with Salaam Remi over here and will be over there.” Right… Amy Winehouse probably wasn’t too psyched about this decision but it seems like it’s not her call. I wonder if anybody is holding bets on whether or not she will actually do her work there and what the odds are. Maybe even Blake Fielder-Civil might want to get in on that.
It seems that since Katie Price has been laying off his back with all of the wonderful things she used to do, Peter Andre feels the need to try some other extreme sports. So he’s got it in his head that he wants to work with Amy Winehouse. This is what he said on the matter: “I think Amy is an absolutely incredible singer, and I would be thrilled to work with her at some point. I know she’s had her fair share of troubles, but I think she’s a lovely girl who just needs a cuddle. I have bumped into her goddaughter Dionne Bromfield at a few things over the last year. Dionne always tells me how much Amy likes me, and how every time I’m on TV, she points at the TV and says, ‘There’s my Pete!’” Peter Andre sure is in for a world of surprise… but well, he probably has it coming for him since he’s asking for it.
Amy Winehouse’s father, Mitch, is speaking out about his daughter finally getting clean of drugs. Daddy Wino said “I just want all her fans to know that she’s back, drug free, and she will be making amazing music again, very soon.” He also revealed that the troubled singer has actually been clean since Christmas and that it wasn’t easy to get her there. In a desperate move, Mitch actually faked a heart attack to get his daughter to clean up her act. While Wino is still having issues with alcohol, things are looking much better for the singer and there are plans for new music in the future.
Amy Winehouse’s estranged husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, 25, will divorce her in two days’ time.
The singer returned to Britain this week ahead of the divorce, only to raise the ire of Sadie Frost over her inclusion in a party for Frost’s ex-boyfriend.
The couple, who have not spoken in months, are set to have a decree nisi announced at the family division of the High Court in London. Under British law, the decree takes effect after a mandatory six weeks and one day of separation.
Winehouse has returned from eight months on the island of St Lucia. She was seen crying on her arrival at Gatwick Airport earlier this week.
A source said the divorce was the best thing for Winehouse, 25, whose wild behaviour and drinking have led to fears for her wellbeing. The source said: "It is onwards and upwards for Amy. This part of her life is behind her. She and Blake have not been in contact for a long time and she has a lot of good things to look forward to."
Documents citing the reason Fielder-Civil is divorcing Winehouse will be released later tomorrow. It is understood he has cited adultery. He expected to stake a claim on some of her estimated £10 million fortune. The couple married in 2007.
The singer, or maybe soon to be ex-singer, has recently made a statement that she is willing to give up everything in order to get back with Blake Fielder-Civil. On her Facebook account, Amy Winehouse wrote: “Amy would chuck it all in for ‘im indoors. She swiftly followed it with another message, saying: ‘Nothing is worth as much as Blake.’” Considering the message seems to be written in the third person and it makes absolutely no sense, it must really be Amy Winehouse. Or it may very well be a hoax, but still the matter apparently stands as Amy Winehouse has also been quoted as saying: “Where’s my oblivious Blakey boy?” Still, I don’t think she realizes that it’s pretty much over… once the 17-year old school girl comes into the picture it really is over and done with.
You just have to love that smile – or whatever that thing her mouth is doing. Amy Winehouse made a couple of funny faces for photographers as she arrived home at Gatwick Airport in London after a flight from Barbados last weekend. The 25-year old British singer is rumored to have returned to London to make amends with her estranged husband and recently released felon Blake Fielder Civil. However, his mom has said that he wants to follow through on the divorce and move on with his life. You know what I think is really screwed up about all this is that Wino and her estranged hubby are barely the ones who talk about their personal lives. It’s always their parents who do the talking.
Amy Winehouse knows she’s a wreck or even more and fears that if her current ways with drugs and alcohol continues then she might well become the newest member of the “27 Club” – the tragic group of rock stars who died in their prime.
Amy has sung a song called Rehab and that where she has been for most of this year. Not only that she has had to spend most of last month as well in hospital after suffering an adverse reaction to medication. Alex Haines, a former aide to the 25-year-old has a different version of Amy’s fears – according to him the singer is obsessed with her own mortality.
Ha Ha 27 is not prime its lean, 37 is prime, 47 is brisket, 57 is shank, 67 is rump, 77 is hamburger, 87 is gristles, 97 is flies buzzing around your head and landing on sore bald spots.
I hope Amy Winehouse still refuses to shell out any money for Blake Fielder-Civil’s stint in rehab. The UK’s Sun has recently reported that Blake texted her on a borrowed phone from the toilet at rehab begging her to smuggle in some crack. It doesn’t look like rehab is doing anything for him. The tabloid also revealed that the husband and wife were supposed to see each other this past Monday. Wino reportedly said through her intercom “I get to see him Monday. Things weren’t going too well — we didn’t get to have sex for a whole year. I love the man.” I hope she didn’t smuggle in crack if the visit did go through.
The UK’s Mirror is reporting that he love is gone between Amy Winehouse and her producer Mark Ronson. Wino has reportedly finished a number of songs for her new album and she hasn’t been working with Mark who worked on a lot of tracks for her huge album ‘Back to Black’. Wino has instead been working with Salaam Remi who has previously worked with her on her debut album ‘Frank’. The paper says that Wino and Mark have yet to make up after their falling out when trying to record her ill-fated James Bond theme song. I just hope she still has it in her to actually finish her album. After it’s out, then she can go out and OD.
I don’t know how to feel anymore about Amy Winehouse actually being able to make it to a gig. On one hand, I’m glad she has enough sense in her to make good on her commitments. On the other hand, if she gives crappy shows anyway, why bother? Why isn’t there anyone around her, not even her parents, who will just stop her from getting onstage performing when it’s obvious that she needs time to regroup and get some serious help? Maybe it’s because everyone around her depends on her for a pay check anyway. Despite looking like a mess, Wino still made it to the V Festival in England where she put on a great crap show for all.
The apple really doesn’t fall far from the tree as Mitch Winehouse is clearly as delusional as his daughter Amy. Poppa Wino thinks that his daughter was hospitalized on Monday because someone drugged her. He’s actually convinced that someone put Ecstasy in Amy’s drink. Mitch has called the police to register his suspicions. A source says “Mitch is furious. He’s certain someone put E in Amy’s drink — and he’s determined to get to the bottom of it. He is convinced that one of her hangers-on was responsible and he’s waiting for a toxicology report to show what caused her to fit. If his suspicions are proved right, he wants someone to be punished. He is seriously unhappy about Amy’s flat being a stop-over for randoms and wants an end to it.” Did it ever occur to him that maybe his own kid took the E?
What a difference a day makes in the life of Amy Winehouse. She looked almost innocent before flying to her Saturday night Glastonbury gig.
But last night she was back at her London clinic after a shambolic gig that included punching a fan in the face as she left the stage to sing.
She had begun confident but got forgetful, slurry and angry – making me wonder if there was something in the drink she was sipping. As she rambled between songs, spat and called Kanye West rude names, the crowd turned on her.
The police received no complaints and last night said there would be no investigation.
Meanwhile backstage, White Stripes rocker Jack White raved: “Amy’s a treasure, the Janis Joplin of our generation. The crowd don’t appreciate her.”
Mates feared the stress of Glasto could get Amy back on drugs after two weeks of detox. Judging from her antics, it seems their fears may be realized.
A publicist for Amy Winehouse’s record label has said that the singer’s father misspoke in a statement to the press about Wino’s health. The publicist said “She is not diagnosed with full-blown emphysema, but instead has early signs of what could lead to emphysema.” In a new interview with BBC Radio, Daddy Wino downplayed his doomsday statements saying “”Amy really hasn’t got emphysema, there’s traces of emphysema. Obviously, if she doesn’t quit smoking, it’s going to get worse, like everyone else … with patience her lungs will recover completely.” He also said that performing might do his daughter some good saying “When she’s been inactive work-wise then that’s when the problems really start. The doctors have said that medically there isn’t any reason why she can’t do Glastonbury.”
