Anthony Kiedis forgave his father
Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman said his son helped him forgive his own father.
The 48-year-old rocker said that his son, three years old, Everly Bear, made him understand the education he received from their father, John Kiedis, and forgave his mistakes.
John Kiedis allowed the artist to try drugs at an early age, even intervened in the process of sexual maturation of his son, Anthony Kiedis then 11 years old, arranging for him to lose his virginity with his girlfriend.
“The fact that the relationship I have with my son is so great made me forgive my own father and even to appreciate him,” said RHCP singer for The Sun newspaper.
Anthony Kiedis was for a long time an alcohol and heroin addict, and finally managed to come clean in 2000. While acknowledging that he still feels tempted to resume his old habits, the artist claims to be determined for the sake of his son, Everly.
“I struggle every day to resist, but my son makes me grateful for succeeding. I feel very lucky.”
