Avril Lavigne kicked off her world tour in Canada on Thursday night. And if the ticket sales are anything to go by, you know it sucked. But if you’re still an Avril believer, the reviewer for the Victoria Times Colonist who admitted to liking her music only had this to say: “For the most part, I like Lavigne’s music and have taken it upon myself to argue the point repeatedly to the non-fans who will listen. But Wednesday night wasn’t an occasion I would go on the record for with unwavering support. Granted, it was the opening night of her world tour - which includes 15 dates in Canada - but the so-billed Best Damn Tour wasn’t even the Somewhat OK Damn Tour; it was just plain disappointing. ” Ouch!

Sum 41 Changes Plans

After moving from a 7,000 capacity venue to a 1,200 capacity venue, Sum 41 did another venue change as the scheduled concert slated for The Cunard Centre, Pier 23 on March 8 has been moved next door to Heritage Hall, Pier 21 (1055 Marginal Road) on the same day. The tickets for The Cunard Centre will be honored at Heritage Hall. The Cunard Centre can hold over 4,000 people. The Heritage Hall fits only 660 people. The band has also had to cancel two concerts slated for the Hamilton Convention Centre in Hamilton, Ontario and the Credit Union Centre in Saskatoon, SK. Blame it on Avril!

Avril Lavigne just posted a message for all her fans on her official blog last Tuesday. In it, she takes her time to thank her fans for the support for her latest record. She is especially proud and grateful because of how much she loves her current release.

She also took the time to plug the new album of her hubby’s band Sum41 ‘Underclass Hero’. She lists four favorites and a free way to hear all the songs from the album before its release date on July 24.

Talk about shameless advertisement. It’s Macy Gray in the making I tell you.
