Beyonce kicked off her 3-date mini tour in France with a hot performance at the Palais Nikaia in Nice. The R&B superstar entertained 9000 screaming fans with rousing live renditions of her back catalogue hits, a few covers and some tracks from her upcoming album “4”. My favorite performance had to have been her cover of Kings of Leon’s “Sex on Fire”. I loved that performance and the medleys that she put together. Beyonce will be in Europe for the next two weeks playing gigs mainly in France and the UK. Apart from the 3 promotional concerts in Nice, Amneville and Paris, she also has a headlining slot at this year’s Glastonbury Festival and has appearances to make on French X Factor and Le Grand Journal.

Piers Morgan has landed an interview with Beyonce. The 46-year-old chat show host confirmed that the singer has agreed to be interviewed for his CNN programme, Piers Morgan Tonight. Taking to Twitter, he teased fans that he had secured an hour with ‘one of the biggest stars in the world’. “She’s agreed to sit with me for the hour and talk about everything,” he wrote. “She’s beautiful, phenomenally talented, and at the top of her game. “And even better, we’re doing it in my hometown of London. She has a one-word name, a voice from the gods… and the single greatest ‘booty’ in showbiz history. “Yep… Beyoncé. World exclusive, for the hour. That’s why I’m excited.” The interview will air on June 27, the day after she headlines Glastonbury Festival.

Nicki Minaj took the stage to perform at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards which was held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas this past Sunday. The rapper, who was introduced by country singer Taylor Swift, started out the performance with her latest single “Super Bass”, before launching into her rap verse for the remix of Britney Separs’ “Till the World Ends”. And just as she did with Rihanna earlier in the night, Britney graced the stage to launch into a performance as well. It’s just too bad that you can tell that Britney wasn’t singing live. It ruined the whole thing for me.

Superstar Beyoncé wants to make her ‘own genre’ of music. The 29-year-old is working on the follow-up to her Grammy-winning album I Am…Sasha Fierce and is aiming to create an entirely new sound for herself. While on the the set of a new advert she is filming for Vizio televisions, the singer told Etonline.com: “I love to dance, I love to sing, and I’m actually in the studio now writing songs and producing. “I have a lot of live instruments that I’m putting into the tracks to try to change the sound and make my own genre of music.” The advert will debut in the US on Thanksgiving day, just after her Thanksgiving special entitled, ‘I Am… World Tour’.

Superstar Beyonce Knowles has reportedly been hit with a $25,000 lawsuit for making too much commotion while shooting a music video.

Philip Markowitz claims his “peace and quiet” was shattered when the pop diva and her crew turned up in Hollywood Hills at the crack of dawn to film the video for Why Don’t You Love Me.

According to TMZ.com, Markowitz says his daily routine was turned upside down when the sizeable team set up camp on the morning of March 26, 2010.

According to legal documents, he claims the crew “invaded his neighbourhood” and woke him from a peaceful sleep at 7am. This alleged disruption was followed by a series of intrusions.

Markowitz claims that the crew blocked his driveway throughout the day – until 11pm.

Furthermore, Markowitz says he “missed several business calls while arguing calmly in his driveway” about the alleged disturbance.

By 11.30am, he says he had “demanded compensation for the trespass on his property and the inconvenience and delay he had already suffered”.

Markowitz says he told a crew member that he has previously charged more than $10,000 for the use of his property – but was this time told that he would not be paid as it was a “low-budget” film shoot. He is suing the newly married R&B star and the production company for nuisance and trespassing.

Probably after he got bored of being such a successful rapper and business man, Jay-Z decided he might seek out other talents with which to amuse himself… and perhaps profit from them a bit. Jay-Z said the following about his new career direction: “I’ve got a whole plan. I’m gonna get me a little Serato set, some DJ software. I’m gonna work on that for six months, then I’m gonna find out which DJ makes the most and charge double and tour, do bar mitzvahs, weddings.” For a successful business man such as Jay-Z, that’s not much of a plan. But hey, there comes a time in every man’s life when he should just settle down with his own DJ board and have some R&R… Beyonce can do all of the singing from now on, anyway.

It seems that a track list for Lady GaGa’s upcoming release, “The Fame Monster”, has been made public and one of the tracks is listed as featuring Beyonce. Now, while all of this is probably mutually advantageous, why would Beyonce actually accept to have her name on Lady GaGa’s release when that release is called “The Fame Monster”? This is the really puzzling issue here. But then again it’s not like she’s going to be noticing the correlation between the two… probably the ones who will be buying it will not be aware of the subtle irony there either, but Lady GaGa knows… probably.
