Who needs Los Angeles or New York, when you can go to Schuylkill, Pennsylvania? This is probably what Jay-Z and Beyonce thought when they decided to relocate to a multi-million dollar home in the Pennsylvanian county. If they thing that they’re going to get away from the paparazzi so easily… they might be right. But then again, Jay-Z and Beyonce probably have no idea of the kind of crowd they’re getting into. The people of Schuylkill might not be ready for such a big change in their daily lives. The two should tread carefully, there’s no telling what events might ensue after their presence there becomes a reality.

Beyonce still dazzled by her Grammy success

She’s probably the only one though… it seems that Beyonce still can’t wrap her head around how many awards she managed to win at this year’s Grammy Awards. This is what Beyonce said on the matter: “I am still overwhelmed by Grammy night. I can’t believe I set a record. I am so thankful to everyone – my family, my friends, the label. I have worked so hard and it seems that it all paid off in that one night. I am still shaking.” The label had something to do with Beyonce’s success? Strange… awards are usually given for value, not origin, are they not? Well, this certainly explains a few things, now doesn’t it?

Well, everybody has to do something with their time. But this is not a new occupation for Beyonce, no! She’s already done it and now she’s here to tell everybody that she’s damn proud of it too! This is what Beyonce said regarding her music: “I am most proud of having written songs that became anthems for young women. I realize that in these songs I am saying so much of what young women want to say.” Yeah, but that must mean that some of the young women who Beyonce inspired so much might be getting on in years… and they might not be so into her music as before. After all, you have to stay in tune with the times!

Probably after he got bored of being such a successful rapper and business man, Jay-Z decided he might seek out other talents with which to amuse himself… and perhaps profit from them a bit. Jay-Z said the following about his new career direction: “I’ve got a whole plan. I’m gonna get me a little Serato set, some DJ software. I’m gonna work on that for six months, then I’m gonna find out which DJ makes the most and charge double and tour, do bar mitzvahs, weddings.” For a successful business man such as Jay-Z, that’s not much of a plan. But hey, there comes a time in every man’s life when he should just settle down with his own DJ board and have some R&R… Beyonce can do all of the singing from now on, anyway.

It seems that a track list for Lady GaGa’s upcoming release, “The Fame Monster”, has been made public and one of the tracks is listed as featuring Beyonce. Now, while all of this is probably mutually advantageous, why would Beyonce actually accept to have her name on Lady GaGa’s release when that release is called “The Fame Monster”? This is the really puzzling issue here. But then again it’s not like she’s going to be noticing the correlation between the two… probably the ones who will be buying it will not be aware of the subtle irony there either, but Lady GaGa knows… probably.

Beyonce Sued by A&F

Beyonce Knowles has been slapped with a fierce court battle with Abercrombie & Fitch because the clothing company claims that there’s something stinky about the singer’s soon to be released fragrance line. A&F filed a federal lawsuit against Beyonce, claiming her upcoming line of products called ‘Sasha Fierce’, which includes a fragrance, is a knock-off of their own line of perfumes which is simply called ‘Fierce’. In the suit, A&F claims that they sent Beyonce a cease and desist letter in 2008 when she started applying for ‘Sasha Fierce’ trademarks. Here’s the thing though, both Beyonce’s camp and Coty, the company working with her on the fragrance, says that the fragrance line doesn’t carry the name ‘Sasha Fierce’ and that the name is still actually being decided upon.

Beyonce Gives Taylor Swift Her Moment

Beyonce’s ‘Single Ladies’ picked up the award for ‘Video of the Year’ at the 2009 MTV VMAs, beating out Britney Spears, Eminem, Kanye West and Lady Gaga. The 28-year old singer said “Thank you. I remember being 17-years-old, up for my first MTV Award with Destiny’s Child and it was one of the most exciting moments in my life. So I’d like Taylor [Swift] to come out and have her moment.” Earlier that night, Kanye interrupted Taylor’s acceptance of the Best Female Video award to proclaim that Beyonce had the best video. The country singer finally got her time in the spotlight saying “I’d like to thank all the fans on Twitter and MySpace and everyone who came out to my shows this summer. Thank you so much!”

Beyonce Covers Self

Beyonce is featured on the June 2009 cover of Self Magazine. In the interview, the singer shares her secrets about how she stays in shape while on tour, including her diet and fitness regimes. Beyonce does admit to cheating every once in a while though. She said “When I’m completely overwhelmed and tired, comfort food helps. I’ll want to have some ice cream. Or when the tour is behind, I’m like, I just want some Krispy Kremes! [Because] there’s too much good food out there to never indulge. When I’m off, I feel like I’ve earned [the right] to eat what I want, and I give myself a certain amount of time.”

You would think that diva behaviour is a very strong function of gender… but some people just show up and decide to make an exception of themselves. Jay-Z is one of those people. When he performs, his list of requests doesn’t hold back at all and it includes: a chauffeured Maybach, a room heated to exactly 72 degrees Fahrenheit, ample supplies of very specific alcoholic drinks and the list goes on. Still, at least his fees are a little lower than the usual absurd amounts others ask for. Supposedly he was paid 750 000 dollars for his last concert and he didn’t even get the car or the booze. Still, Jay-Z seems to be quite the diva… I wonder if Beyonce has anything to do with this.

Beyonce Sends Look-a-Like to Museum Tour

Beyonce is becoming a bit too much of a diva for her own good. Albertina, the acclaimed art museum located in Vienna, Austria, had arranged for a private tour for the singer while she was in town for a performance last week. But instead of showing up herself, Beyonce sent a lookalike to go in her place. And where was Miss Sasha Fierce while all of that was going down? Beyonce was spotted out and about shopping! Reps for the museum are mighty pissed at the swap and plan to take it up with her management. Maybe Beyonce was partaking in some much needed retail therapy. Reports say that her concert in Vienna last week was only half full.

In this economic gloom we can always count on celebrities to come out with a idea that will change the fortune of other people and that’s exactly what singer Beyonce has taken on herself to do. The singer has announced the launching of an online $250,000 dance contest.

All Beyonce fans and otherwise are invited, basically its an open competition where you are required to submit videos of oneself dancing to the singer’s “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)” hit. The best entry that impresses the most stands to win a cool $250,000 additionally that video will feature during Beyonce’s upcoming world tour.

Now that’s what I would really call star power, these people earn millions from album sales and other contracts and even royalties so why not share it with those who contribute to your success – your fans.

But my advice is that there should be top 5 winners and the winning amount be shared amongst the 5 best so at least 5 people get something for creating cool videos.
