While The Killers are on break from recording new music, their lead singer Brandon Flowers is prepping his first solo album ‘Flamingo’ which is set for a fall release. He recently sat down to talk about the process and who he’s worked with. Brandon has a duet with Rilo Kiley’s Jenny Lewis and collaborating with producers Stuart Price (Madonna and Kylie Minogue), Daniel Lanois (Bob Dylan and U2) and Brendan O’Brien (Bruce Springsteen and Neil Young). Brandon said “It’s a pretty good line-up, I think. Stuart and Daniel have been working together, and I’ve done another three tracks with Brendan on his own. Jenny’s helped me out on a couple of songs, and we also get to duet on the record, on a song called Hard Enough, which turned out great. She’s always popped into my mind whenever I think about getting a female vocalist involved because she’s a fellow child of Las Vegas, too. It’s all very rooted right here in Las Vegas dirt.”

Anybody remember Joni Mitchell? Big folk singer who at some point decided to retreat from the public eye and live out her days in solace… but now it looks like circumstances have forced her to come out of hiding and strike at Bob Dylan and Madonna of all people. This is what Joni Mitchell had to say about the two: “Bob is not authentic at all. He’s a plagiarist, and his name and voice are fake. Everything about Bob is a deception. We are like night and day, he and I. Americans have decided to be stupid and shallow since 1980. Madonna is like Nero; she marks the turning point.” You have to wonder about what happened here. Maybe Joni Mitchell stumbled upon the fact that the world as she knew it was no more and decided to take action. Now that’s determination!

The former Beatles drummer is keen to join his old band mate, Paul McCartney, and the famous Bob Dylan to record the upcoming sensational tracks of this summer the two had already planned for. A source said the following about Ringo Starr’s intentions: “The word is Ringo is likely to play drums on a couple of tracks once Paul and Bob have put some songs together. Ringo will be the perfect middleman between Bob and Paul as he knows them both well.” Yeah, Paul McCartney and Bob Dylan definitely needed a middleman for this one, it’s not like they could get along without Ringo Starr. But maybe he is indeed the element of balance in what’s shaping up to be somewhat of a triumvirate. Hopefully, it will not end up like the others before it.

After doing a cover of Bob Dylan’s ‘Desolation Row’ for the upcoming ‘Watchman’ film, My Chemical Romance is thinking about scoring films on the side. However, they want nothing to do with the ‘Twilight’ franchise. When asked about scoring ‘New Moon’, MCR front man Gerard Way said “We’re very choosy… There were a few films that we didn’t do the song for because it didn’t fit. I guess a lot of people would say that a vampire movie would fit, but I would disagree with that these days… I don’t know if we’d be interested in that.” If the movie and soundtrack turns into a goldmine much like the first film, I bet he’d be eating his words.

Robbie Williams Plans Comeback

His last album ‘Rudebox’ was a complete flop, Take That’s reunion is reaching new heights; without him, and former band mates have been quoted saying things like “There is no place for Robbie in Take That anymore.” Some might say Robbie Williams is pretty washed up.

But Rob has other ideas. Reports show that he plans a huge musical comeback in 2008; apparently because he is so jealous of his former band’s success he wants revenge.

A source close to the singer said: “Things haven’t been going that well for Robbie recently and he’s been having a bit of a break from recording. His last album, ‘Rudebox’, was panned by critics, which was made worse by the fact Take That are doing so well, without him. Robbie has now decided enough is enough and it’s time to reclaim his crown. He is working on new material and he reckons this is the best stuff he has ever come up with. There could even be another hit like ‘Angels’.”
