American Idol judges Randy Jackson, Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez and host Ryan Seacrest are featured on the cover of the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly. When asked what they thought of the reality TV show only producing three superstars, namely Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Chris Daughtry, Jennifer said “I don’t know that that is such a fair statement. You named three [superstars] in nine years— that’s pretty amazing, that’s 33 percent. We all know that in this business, a 1 percent chance is huge, so I think this show is doing pretty well in that arena.” I kind of agree with her on that one.

Even though she might have lost in every other category, nobody can beat Carrie Underwood when it comes to being an entertainer. At least that’s what the people at the Academy Country Music awards seem to think since they honored Carrie Underwood with the Entertainer of the Year award for the second time. Well at least Carrie Underwood didn’t have to go home empty handed. She has once again received recognition for the warmth she brings in people’s homes and hearts… and the cold, chilly winds through their pockets especially now that she’s added some extra tour dates for all those dedicated fans out there.

The singer is apparently set to make her acting debut soon as a character in the “How I met your mother” series. Apparently, Carrie Underwood’s character has the following description: “enigmatic pharmaceutical sales rep” and her name will be Tiffany. Oh how the music industry is losing everybody to acting these days. Or perhaps given that she will be married, maybe Carrie Underwood thought of getting a more “stay at home” career. It’s just one episode, but still. Well, it’s probably all for the best, there can be no beating Taylor Swift in the Country department anyway.

American Idol fans watching at home weren’t able to see Carrie Underwood limp off of the stage after her performance last week. But Ryan Seacrest was able to get the country singer to talk about it on his morning radio show. Carrie said “You’re gonna laugh at me – everyone does.” The American Idol alum then explained that she fell and suffered a minor injury while running in Nashville. She also said that a neighbor of hers came to the rescue. Carrie said “This nice lady was driving behind me — I’d never met her before. She saw the incident and was nice enough to pull over and roll down the window and say, ‘Can I take you home?…So I fought back tears and she took me home!”

Carrie Underwood at American Idol Gives Back

Carrie Underwood took some time to strike some poses backstage during the taping of ‘Idol Gives Back’ which was held at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday. The American Idol alum and former champion also performed on the show by covering the George Michael original ‘Praying for Time’. It is also being reported that Carrie came out on stage when ‘Desperate Housewives’ star Teri Hatcher performed her rendition of Carrie’s hit ‘Before He Cheats’. I guess we’ll find out if that’s true as ‘Idol Gives Back’ airs April 9th at 7:30 to 10 PM ET/PT on FOX. That’s tonight folks so keep tuned in.
