I smell a feud brewing between Nine Inch Nails’ front man Trent Reznor and former Soundgarden front man Chris Cornell. On his latest tweet on Twitter, Trent talks some smack about Chris and his record. Trent said “You know that feeling you get when somebody embarrasses themselves so badly YOU feel uncomfortable? Heard Chris Cornell’s record? Jesus.” I wonder what Chris has to say about that. If you ask me, Chris should just not comment because he will just further embarrass himself. I agree with Trent about Chris’ record. Heck, anyone, whether a singer or someone tone deaf, will be embarrassed by the sound of that album.

Chris Cornell’s long-awaited Timbaland produced album, Scream, is reaching stores on  March 10.  Chris has been keeping busy rehearsing with his new band and talking with his fans on his blog to gear up for the release.  The front man hasn’t picked up an electric guitar since the break-up of his legendary group Soundgarden back in the late 90’s, but according to his latest blog entry on ChrisCornell.com, he’s thinking of busting them out for his upcoming tour:

“Hi people. Here is an open question. Since I got my guitars back I have been considering playing guitar live again. Who thinks I should pick it up again? I play guitar all day every day as I am always working on new songs. Let me know if you think I should hit it live. The king is dead. God save the king.”

Chris Cornell will be performing on Jimmy Kimmel live tonight, Friday, January 23rd – and free tickets are up for grabs. If you’re in the Los Angeles area, come along and see his outdoor mini-concert – tickets and all other details are available now. It’s a great chance to catch Chris and his band live before they head out to Europe for four exclusive shows next month.

Chris Cornell has just premiered the video for “Scream,” the title track off of his Timbaland produced album due out next year. Directed by Alan Ferguson (Fall Out Boy, Gym Class Heroes), the cinematic piece captures the two opposing moods of the song. “My role in the video is performing the song in super-slow-motion,” explains Cornell. “I’m existing in this Zen-like world, singing these song lyrics and everything going on around me is super-fast, super-chaotic, and I’m just suspended in it.”

INTERVIEW:
Artist on Artist Chris Cornell – Timbaland

Throughout his storied career, Chris Cornell has clearly never been an artist that is content sitting in one creative comfort spot for too long. The versatile rocker who became a household name from his success in Soundgarden and Audioslave has teamed up with perhaps the most celebrated producer of this era: Timbaland. Scream is the result of their genre-defying sessions.

Cornell and Timbaland are set to kick off a string of eight live shows on October 17th to support the project. Scream will be performed in its entirety to mimic the experience of listening to the LP from start to finish.

The new album features infectious tracks like “Ground Zero,” “Part of Me,” and the exhilarating title track and lead single, “Scream.” Fans can expect a unique blend of hip-hop and rock from this release that will no doubt venture into new territory for both Cornell and Timbaland.
