A publicist for Amy Winehouse’s record label has said that the singer’s father misspoke in a statement to the press about Wino’s health. The publicist said “She is not diagnosed with full-blown emphysema, but instead has early signs of what could lead to emphysema.” In a new interview with BBC Radio, Daddy Wino downplayed his doomsday statements saying “”Amy really hasn’t got emphysema, there’s traces of emphysema. Obviously, if she doesn’t quit smoking, it’s going to get worse, like everyone else … with patience her lungs will recover completely.” He also said that performing might do his daughter some good saying “When she’s been inactive work-wise then that’s when the problems really start. The doctors have said that medically there isn’t any reason why she can’t do Glastonbury.”

Amy Winehouse was only supposed to be kept overnight at the hospital after her fainting spell at her London home on Monday but test results on Tuesday prevented that as her results were inconclusive. Is it that hard to analyze her blood having traces of crack, heroin, cocaine, ecstasy and whatever else? A rep for Wino spoke of her extended stay saying “She’s staying there for the time being. They are still not quite sure what happened and the tests were inconclusive. Doctors want to get to the bottom of it before releasing her. There will be further tests and they will keep her under observation. She seems to be fine … but they are taking their time to be sure.”

According to new reports, Amy Winehouse is paying five inmates to protect her husband Blake Fielder-Civil safe from other prisoners and actually shells out around $2,000 a month to support his drug habit behind bars. That is so pathetic. Wino’s husband had the guts to beat someone in a bar and offered to pay people off to stay quiet about it. That alone says that he’s capable of taking care of himself. Wino is being so pathetic when it comes to her junky husband. And she’s supporting a drug habit! Maybe she was the one who supported Pete Doherty’s drug habit during his latest stint in jail too.

Aerosmith front man Steven Tyler has checked himself into Las Encinas Hospital, a drug rehabilitation clinic. It’s the same place that Dr. Drew practices in, located in Pasadena, California. It’s also the same facility where the reality show ‘Celebrity Rehab’ was filmed. While his reps had no comment about it, the 60-year old rocker is reportedly in there to get treatment for substance abuse. He needs to figure out that while he’s still living the rock star life, his body may not be able to handle it that much longer. I hope he gets better. If he wants a picture to fight against, he should think of Amy Winehouse or Pete Doherty.

Pete Doherty is to be released early from prison after serving just 29 days of his 14-week sentence.

The singer was jailed last month for breaking the conditions of his probation by refusing to take drug tests following a suspended sentence for heroin posession.

Doherty’s incarceration has led to the cancelling and postponing of several shows, but his early release means that he’ll more than likely be able to appear at this year’s Glastonbury festival as planned. Don’t hold your breath though…

News of the early release has sparked off questions about the special treatment of celebrity law-breakers and the early release of jailbirds in general.

Kasabian frontman Tom Meighan is lucky to be alive.

The singer is amazed he has managed to survive all the hard partying he’s done over the years without going to rehab.

He said: “Since Kasabian came out, most of it has just been a blackout for me. Thank God I’m still here. I haven’t gone to rehab, which is the genius thing. When we were on tour with Oasis, when we did America, we had some great nights with Liam and Noel Gallagher. That was an amazing time - and meeting Lars from Metallica. I got off stage in San Francisco and he was in our f**king tour bus - and that’s the b******s.”

Meighan also revealed he is obsessed with Pot Noodles, and always takes the British instant savoury snack with him on tour.

He added: “We take Pot Noodles with us. Everyone loves chicken and mushroom, but beef and tomato is pretty cool. And I tell you what’s really underestimated - chow mein. Great flavour.”

Amy Winehouse has been warned by her label to keep out of trouble – or NEVER release another album.

Chiefs at Universal issued the stern ultimatum that the druggy singer can only put out another CD if she is clean. The firm’s European head honcho, Lucian Grainge, made a similar threat earlier this year to get her into rehab after press exposed footage of her smoking crack.

But label bosses have watched her slip back to her old ways and have reminded her of the conditions of releasing a third record. A source revealed: “Amy has been reminded of her responsibilities. Unless she is clean she will not be allowed to release another album. She took notice when Lucian talked to her earlier in the year and agreed to go to rehab. But she didn’t take it seriously enough. They would never release her from her deal, they would just not put an album out.”

Amy’s label are now privately accepting there will be no album until 2009 after she scrapped plans to start recording in the Bahamas. And my source added: “The label were not impressed. She has been warned about her behaviour and needs to keep the standards up.”

Universal’s stance suggests this could be the last album of her deal. Otherwise they would be churning something out to capitalise on her fame. And while it’s commendable they are taking a tough stand, I think Universal need Amy more than she needs them.

It sounds like a no Wine situation to me . . .

Supergrass were Caught By The Fuzz yesterday as cops pulled the plug on a London busking session.

The boys in blue feared for crowd safety as hundreds of fans packed London’s Covent Garden to see a set by the lads in aid of homeless charity Crisis.

The duo of Gaz Coombes and Danny Goffey – performing under their Diamond Hoo Ha Men moniker – eventually got to play on the streets though.

They moved their set to more spacious surroundings on the capital’s South Bank.

Clearly the Grass was greener for them on the other side … of the river.

Van Halen in Rehab

With all the rescheduling that has been going on, would it still be a surprise if it’s confirmed that Eddie Van Halen is back in rehab? According to recent reports, the 53-year old rocker is currently receiving treatment in San Antonio, Texas. It was a bust up with his son and band mate, 17-year old Wolfgang last Friday that supposedly forced him into rehab once again. An insider says that “Wolf hates it when his dad drinks. He knew Eddie was drunk onstage that night, and was acting cold to him, which set Eddie off. Eddie went berserk and started yanking guitar cables from the pedal boards and throwing cigarettes around onstage. At the end of the concert, Eddie was so mad at Wolf, he punched the amp speaker, knocking it over.” He’s supposedly in detox for a week. Will that be enough?

Former Stone Temple Pilots front man Scott Weiland was arrested last November and booked for driving under the influence of a drug. Early last month, the rocker entered a rehab facility. He has since completed a 28-day stint in rehab and is now out as confirmed by his attorney Tony Brooklier. Brooklier says that Scott is doing well. He actually had a court date on Wednesday in relation to his November arrest. I don’t have any word on how that went but I’m guessing if his attorney is telling the truth on how he’s doing, Scott should have made a good impression on the judge.

Scott Weiland in Rehab

It looks like rehab is the place to be for stars these days. First there was Amy Winehouse, then Kirsten Dunst, Eva Mendes and a plethora of others. The most recent in-patient is mercurial rocker Scott Weiland, though it’s not clear where. He was popped by cops last November for an alleged DUI.

It is being reported that the Velvet Revolver front man went to a “facility” right after he performed with his band on Wednesday in LA. According to a band statement, the show in San Diego this week had to be postponed. “Velvet Revolver deeply apologize to their fans and thank them for sticking by the group.”

Kylie MinogueBritney Spears in tears

Britney Spears life is threatening to go into meltdown again. After a spectacular bust up with her “advisor” Sam Lufti the pop star was snapped sobbing uncontrollably while slumped on the pavement outside her LA home on Monday night.

So any advice would most likely be welcome. And fame game professional Kylie Minogue may be the one to offer it. She has navigated the pitfalls of drugs, dodgy boyfriends and career crises and come out the other side still smiling.

In Britney’s case, Kylie said: “I wish someone would write a manual about fame because it’s not easy. I’m always loath to say that because there are a lot more difficulties out there that people deal with every day - but when fame is handed to you, it is unique. It’s not to the same extreme, but I can remember having a mini-meltdown myself, and unless you’ve got good people around to support you, you’ve got a problem. Who knows what is going on in her life? Britney isn’t that young any more. I think she will still come back but it’s like she’s taken an extended holiday. Whatever help she needs, she should reach out and get it.”

Wise words, Kylie.

Austin Winkler

The lead singer of the rock group Hinder, Austin Winkler, was arrested late Saturday night in Jonesboro, Arkansas on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. The singer told police that he had a few glasses of wine at his engagement party.Police made him take a breathalyzer test at the scene where he allegedly blew a 0.16 which is twice the legal limit in the state. According to the Jonesboro Sun, an officer conducted the traffic stop after he spotted an SUV travelling without headlights on. The singer was then taken to the Craighead County Detention Center. Winkler was cited and is scheduled to appear in Craighead County District Court on January 2.

After his Tuesday arrest for possession of marijuana, Baby “Birdman” Williams decided to talk to MTV News about what really went down.

Police reported that they had recovered over a pound of pot on the RV that Williams and 15 other passengers were traveling in. He says it wasn’t like that; “We got charged for a misdemeanor amount - we didn’t have no pound.” Yeah, since the amount really makes the fact that you were charged with marijuana possession SO much better.

He also disputes the gun charges. He says that everyone carrying weapon is licensed to do so. “The guns we had were good. I do carry a gun and I am licensed. Tennessee is one of the states I can tote in.”

He is also up in arms about another reported misprint that has sparked rumors around the net. He maintains his bachelorhood, saying, “I’m not married. Never! Been! Married! Plus, that girl was 18! I don’t get down like that! Plus, if I was married, why would I keep it a secret?” So, ladies, he’s back on the market.

Whatever happens, he is due back in court March 18 to figure out what is going to happen. Until then, he’ll continue to promote his new album, 5 Star G.

Velvet Revolver Banned from Japan

Grammy award winning hard rock band, Velvet Revolver, have been denied visas for their upcoming tour in Japan. The band had been due to perform four concerts between November 26 and November 30 in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and Yokohama to promote its current album “Libertad”. However Japanese immigration officials have taken exception to the “colourful backgrounds” of some of the band members.

Velvet Revolver features three members of rowdy rock legends Guns N’ Roses and the Stone Temple Pilots’ volatile former frontman Scott Weiland, who has been arrested several times on drug-related charges.

Under Japanese law anyone with a drug conviction can be refused entry into the country. So that rules out pretty much every rock star ever then…

Japan, if you want decent rock bands to play live concerts you are going to have to consider changing your rules. Ever heard of “turning a blind eye”?

Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood has urged troubled star Amy Winehouse to ditch her husband Blake Fielder-Civil. The guitarist has lost countless music industry friends to drug addictions throughout the years - and fears Winehouse will head the same way if she doesn’t start surrounding herself with “winners.” I think that’s the most sensible piece of advice that I have heard come from an artist in a long time, the singer has got it right and that’s because he went through hell himself only to realize that if you wannabe loved then you have to keep clean and stir away from drugs. Also the winner concept is great, a bunch of losers can be great party buffs but when it comes to performance the lack the zeal to conquer and be the best because winning is a habit, how much you want win depends solely upon oneself and if Amy wants to be an all timer then she has to rid of the people around her.

Junkie Pete Doherty has apparently given up drugs. Yes, I know what you are thinking, “how many times have we heard this before.” Doherty says, “I’m not craving drugs any more. I have passed through the barrier. I want to be a father to my son and a son to my father.” But this time I am not going to pounce upon him and criticize him for what he has done in the past, rather it is time for him to look to a new start with his family and friends. He and his father have not spoken in three years because of his addiction problems, but have since reunited. So, clearly he needs to make up to his family and what better news for the family if he has finally found the mantra to say NO to drugs and all his problems, if he has achieved this he has set a precedent for many other celebrities who are struggling to say No to drugs. Keep it up Pete, you can do it and you will have to do it for your son and your dad and the entire family. Do not screw up this time or else redemption shall be not coming your way again.

Fleetwood Mac star Stevie Nicks enjoyed a secret three-year affair with The Eagles star Joe Walsh and describes the guitarist as her “great, great love”. I think that it’s so sad when people, especially Actor’s feel the need to take drugs. I mean they have everything, can’t they just be happy with what they have. Money, fame, fortune. For a natural hi…they should look in their Bible and find Jesus and his Heavenly Father and that is all happiness they will need. Plus it’s free and safer. But I know we all need love and I wish only the best for Stevie Nicks. I love her music. Even the Eagle’s are awesome. They for many years entertained their fans with unparalleled music but it is always sad to see that some of your idols get involved is such petty things that you have to think whether you still like them or not. Their romance ended because of their drug addictions and Nicks adds, “We were a couple on the way to hell.

pablo-montero.jpg

Pablo Montero was arrested on suspicion of possessing cocaine and driving recklessly, according to police reports.
The Mexican singer and actor, whose legal name is Oscar Hernandez, was stopped by police about 1:30 p.m. Friday for allegedly running a red light in his white BMW sport utility vehicle and then making a left turn from a right-turn only lane. The arrest in Miami Beach came two days after Montero, 38, helped present nominees for this year’s Latin Grammy Awards at a press conference there. Montero was nominated for the category of regional Mexican song.
According to police, Miami Beach officers found a small clear bag in the car that that field tests showed to be cocaine. Montero allegedly told officers the bag belonged to him and not to a passenger driving with him, the police report stated.
The Miami-Dade County Clerk’s Web site on Wednesday stated no information was available on the status of the case, and a message left for the State Attorney’s office was not returned.
An Attorney for Montero could not immediately be reached.
Montero and his girlfriend, Argentinean model Sandra Vidal, are expecting the imminent birth of their first child, a baby boy. Montero said in July he would take a break from his music projects to await the baby’s birth in Los Angeles.

Ha Ha A coke head does not like a coke heads music. This should not be a surprise to anyone, Kate Moss may be gorgeous but she no different from this Pete, both of them come from the same junk yard. That’s just X@@##! Great man when he’s gone and his music we listen is aired or played I think if he were ever to sit back and listen to his music he would be so frightened that he file a suit against his music record company for selling his songs! I forgot where I was for a sec there, man! This is good X@@##! Weed. Cough/ Cough/ Hack/ Hack. X@@##! Is that a piece of lung? Some time I wonder about her.One day she with him crying for breaking up with him and next she burning everything up about his songs, love notes, and hate his music and next she back to him again. She wishy-washy. She lost her head staying all this time with and cannot figure out if she likes him or hates him.

Veteran British rocker Glen Tilbrook has offered his support for today’s troubled stars - but insists Babyshambles star Pete Doherty is “an idiot.” The Squeeze star is adamant young celebrities are under immense pressure when they are thrust into the spotlight, and admits it’s easy to spiral out of control. Can one open the archives and make a in-depth check on Glen, as to how and what he did when he was new on the scene. It’s always easy to criticize other’s, everyone wants to open a consultancy firm and throw advice on other as to how to behave and how to avoid drugs and stop making obscene videos and so on so forth, but none of these so called advisors and well wishers would ever come out and say that when I was 20 something I was really a menace to people around me and I wonder how they actually had to bear with me. Glen you just ain’t good enough to become an advisor so something, send in your resignation and you are terminated with immediate effect, hahaha.

We’ve feared for her when she had a reported drug overdose. And then she disappeared to “recuperate” but now, Amy Winehouse is out and about and even spoke exclusively to News of the World about her health scare.

“It was one of the most terrifying moments of my life. It was just crazy—one of the most terrifying moments of my life. I don’t know how to explain what happened. I don’t really know myself. I can’t remember what I looked like. I couldn’t recognize myself. It was terrifying—I was terrified. I was so out of control. It just happened. It shocked me. I’m sorry—I just don’t know what got into me. I never want to feel that way again. I’ve scared myself this time. I was all over the place. I know things have got to change. I have to sort myself out. I’m fine. I’ll be back at work on Monday. I’m fine, honest.”

Amy Winehouse was hospitalized earlier this week after suffering from a reported drug overdose (covered up with an ‘exhaustion’ excuse). A close family member says that the singer who repeatedly said no to rehab is now IN rehab.

But that’s just a fantasy.

After the 3-day drug binge that resulted in her hospitalization, Wino is still saying no to rehab. She instead locked herself in a London hotel room to recover from whatever she was on.

She needs help. Lots of it. Otherwise, she’s going to end up having one of those ‘E! True Hollywood Stories’ things that speak of her tragedy in the very near future.
