The singer is apparently set to make her acting debut soon as a character in the “How I met your mother” series. Apparently, Carrie Underwood’s character has the following description: “enigmatic pharmaceutical sales rep” and her name will be Tiffany. Oh how the music industry is losing everybody to acting these days. Or perhaps given that she will be married, maybe Carrie Underwood thought of getting a more “stay at home” career. It’s just one episode, but still. Well, it’s probably all for the best, there can be no beating Taylor Swift in the Country department anyway.
Leona Lewis is bound to have some fierce new singles soon as the singer is recording 2 songs with Robbie Williams for an updated version of her album ‘Echo’ and Simon Cowell also really wants him to join her upcoming tour. Kings of Leon will also be getting in on the action as the band is set to record with Leona as well. A source said “The track will coincide with her arena tour, with the possibility that Robbie could appear on stage. Simon is really keen on the idea and hopes it will help Robbie come on board with The X Factor. The Kings of Leon collaboration came about through Leona herself. Caleb (Followill) and the guys are huge fans.”
It seems that after getting dragged through the mud several times by ABC, Adam Lambert’s patience might actually pay off. It seems Adam Lambert might be getting a show from Oprah Winfrey. This is the message that could be read on her site: “Calling ALL Adam Lambert Fans!!! Did you vote for him as many times as you could? Were you holding your breath when the new American Idol was announed, hoping and praying it would be HIM? It seems that the singer and actress is very bummed out since she thought she would have deserved at least one measly Oscar for her performance in “El Cantante”. This is what Jennifer Lopez said on the matter: “I feel like I had that Oscar worthy role in ‘El Cantante,’ but I don’t even think the academy members saw it. I feel like it’s their responsibility to do that, to see everything that’s out there, everything that could be great.” Yeah, they must’ve missed it, surely that is the reason Jennifer Lopez wasn’t even nominated. It couldn’t have been poor acting… that’s not even an option!
Horror writer Stephen King has collaborated with John Mellencamp for a new musical called ‘Ghost Brothers of Darkland County’ and the cast is shaping up to be star-studdedly fantastic! Elvis Costello has recently signed on to play a Satanic character named ‘The Shape’ and Sheryl Crow and indie rock singer Neko Case are also on board for the project. Given those big names that are involved, I have no doubt that this will be an amazing musical. I bet that the soundtrack will be epic too! Finally, a new musical with real talent on board and no Ashlee Simpson or other wannabes!
Justin Timberlake may be the ultimate dream for many women at this time, but it seems he’s just not enough for Rihanna. Other rumors state that the singer is also involved with a player from the L.A. Dodgers, Matt Kemp. But these rumors apparently go along the line that Rihanna is serious about Matt Kemp, she isn’t regarding this as just another fling. It looks like Justin Timberlake might just be the side-game for Rihanna… it is a bit ironic, come to think of it. It looks like Rihanna is really taking her new independence very seriously… so many names in so short a time.
The Black Crowes frontman and wife Allison Bridges welcomed a daughter on Saturday, a representative for the musician said.
“Chris Robinson and his new wife, Allison, have a healthy and beautiful baby girl,” said the representative.
“Cheyenne Genevieve Robinson, 6 lbs., 3 oz., was born on December 26, 2009 at the Robinsons’ home in California.”
Robinson, 43, who married Bridges earlier this year, confirmed in September that they were expecting their first child together.
This is the second child for the rocker, who has a son, five-year-old Ryder Russell, with ex-wife Kate Hudson.
After a year of touring in support of the Black Crowes’s latest album, Before the Frost… Until the Freeze, Robinson plans to spend some time at home with his wife and daughter before the band starts a new project and tour in 2010.
Jared Leto has said the past year has been “brutal”.
The 38-year-old actor and musician has been promoting album This Is War with his band Thirty Seconds to Mars.
According to the Toronto Star, the muse of the new album was the group’s record company, EMI, which launched a $30 million lawsuit against them when the band tried to change labels.
“It was an intense time,” Jared shared. “Not just in our world and our battle with our record company, but the entire world went through this and is still going through this historically brutal time; I’m talking about the financial crisis, the housing meltdown, the climate challenges …”
The tally is in as the claims for Michael Jackson’s fortune have been totalled and there are a reported $20,000,000 in claims towards the King of Pop’s estate. While it’s not at all surprising considering all the claims that we’ve all heard about but it’s a pretty big shock to see that many zeroes following a solid number. Sources do say that many of the claims are bogus and will never even make it to court but the singer’s estate will still be out a major amount of money by the time all this crap is put to rest, what, with the ones they have to pay and the legal fees.
It was reported earlier that former boy band member JC Chasez had a tax lien placed against him by the state of Mississippi. Now, the former NSYNC singer is speaking out becuase he wants everyone to know that JC isn’t broke. His manager explains that “This is a dispute between ‘NSync and the state of Mississippi that stems back from an ‘NSync performance in the state. Since ‘NSync no longer exists, the state is going after each member individually.” And since JC “was the principal member of ‘NSync, the front guy, so they are going after him first. This is still an open dispute with ‘NSync as a whole and ‘NSync is looking to get it all resolved.” I thought Justin Timberlake was the front man.

When asked about whether she thinks she’s not taken seriously as a musician because she’s also an actress, Taylor said “I think people don’t really take me seriously because I’m 16. And they think most 16-year-olds don’t know what they want to do. But I actually really do, because I’ve been thinking about it since I was 2. And in the world of acting, you have such a stigma put onto you that you [get into this business] for the fame. Fame frankly means nothing. It’s so stupid. In a recent poll on Parade Magazine online, Kanye West won the title of Most Egotistical Male Celebrity, beating out the likes of Simon Cowell and Donald Trump with a landslide victory of having 46% of the votes in his favor. With the 2009 VMA incident with Taylor Swift fresh on everyone’s mind still, it would be a wonder if he didn’t get that title. It isn’t a Grammy or a VMA or anything that’s actually relevant but it definitely is an award that the rapper deserves. Should we be expecting an all capitalized acceptance speech from him anytime soon?
Russell Brand and Katy Perry are to tie the knot, having recently got engaged.
According to reports, Brand popped the question last week while Katy was in the UK prior to Christmas – and they’re thrilled to be taking their relationship to the next level.
A source said: “Russell knows Katy’s the one for him. He’s never been into a girl like he has with her and they’re besotted. He asked her to marry him last week and she quickly said ‘yes’.”
But apparently the biggest hurdle with be finding time for the actual nuptials. The source said: “They don’t know when the wedding will be, but they are planning to make it in 2010 if the schedules can work.”
Recent reports have also emerged that Brand bought a $3.2 million home in Los Feliz, California.
New Moon star Taylor Lautner and his girlfriend country singer Taylor Swift have reportedly split up after dating for only a few months.
“It wasn’t really developing into anything, and wasn’t going to, so they decided they were better as friends,” a source close to Swift said. “There was no chemistry, and it felt contrived.”
‘Taylor Squared’ met on the set of their upcoming flick, Valentine’s Day, and things slowly progressed after that.
They have been spotted on several dates together and Lautner even mentioned his girlfriend during his skit on SNL.
The relationship reportedly came to standstill during Swift’s birthday celebration.
Lautner flew to Nashville on December 13 to help celebrate his girl’s birthday, but things didn’t had fizzled between the two kids.
“He liked her more than she liked him,” the source added. “He went everywhere he could to see her, but she didn’t travel much to see him.”
It’s round two for Gene Simmons as the KISS front man is now facing a lawsuit for allegedly choking and threatening a couple at a Los Angeles shopping center. As it was first reported, the couple, Nathan Marlowe and Cynthia Manzo, were denied a restraining order against the rock star last week, but now they’re going after Gene in civil court, suing for an unspecified amount of cash. According to the lawsuit which was filed in LA County Superior Court, Nathan and Cynthia are accusing Gene of assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress and more. Considering that this allegedly happened at a mall, I’m curious as to why there aren’t any witnesses.
The Beckhams have a new leash of life – after wife Victoria Beckham surprised husband David with a four-legged Christmas present.
Posh, 35, bought the soccer superstar a British bulldog after Becks spoke of England’s bulldog spirit in the run-up to next year’s World Cup campaign.
She snapped up the $3,500 animal from a local breeder in the UK and presented the pedigree hound to a delighted Becks, 34, as they celebrated Christmas at their Beckingham Palace home in the UK.
The bulldog will live with Victoria and the couple’s kids Brooklyn, ten, Romeo, seven, and four-year-old Cruz in Los Angeles while Becks is on loan to AC Milan.
A family friend told The Sun: “David absolutely loves the bulldog.
“Posh said she chose the breed because it is a symbol of Becks’ spirit on the football field.
“He will be flown out to LA so the boys have something to look after while he’s away.”
David already has two Rottweilers called Snoopy and Puff – after his favourite rappers Snoop Dog and P Diddy, formerly known as Puff Daddy.
The family spent Christmas with TV chef Gordon Ramsay – who cooked dinner – his wife Tana and their four kids. David’s parents Sandra and Ted, his sister Joanne and Posh’s parents Tony and Jackie were also there.
Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban took their daughter, Sunday Rose, to a children’s Christmas Mass in Sydney.
Kidman and Urban were not accompanied by security when they stepped into the St Francis Xavier Church in Lavendar Bay for a 5.30pm children’s Mass on Christmas Eve.
Urban shunted one-year-old Sunday straight to the top of the church where children assemble around the altar. A church tradition sees the little ones dressed as shepherds and angels.
“He was obviously so very happy. It was very cute – he was helping her to gesture to Nicole [who was among the congregation] as you do. There was no paraphernalia, no bodyguards. It was really refreshing to see them there,” said a parishioner.
The Mass was said by Father Paul Coleman, who married the Urbans in Manly in 2006 at the Cardinal Cerretti Chapel.
The FBI will not be releasing Michael Jackson documents relating to the molestation investigation as well as extortion attempts this week. The 333 pages of formerly classified documents were supposed to be released earlier this week but the snow in Washington DC has caused the delay. As for what’s in those papers, sources say that during the 1993 child molestation investigation, the late Johnnie Cochran contacted the FBI, claiming that the accuser’s family was trying to extort money from the late King of Pop with false allegations. It’s likely that his contact with the agency will show up when the documents are released.
Jonas Brothers member Kevin Jonas and Danielle Deleasa got married last Saturday at Oheka Castle in Long Island New York. The couple told People magazine “We’re so happy that we’re finally married and we were able to share the special moment with family, friends and loved ones.” They also provided some details about the nuptials, sharing that 400 family members and friends attended the ceremony, including Demi Lovato; Danielle wore a strapless Vera Wang gown; Joe and Nick both served as best men; and that the couple recited traditional vows and exchanged Jacob & Co. wedding bands that they designed for one another. Congratulations!
Court documents released in the case of Frances Bean Cobain and her mother, Courtney Love, cite “personal problems in the family” and domestic violence.
Cobain has taken out a temporary restraining order against her mother and sought to live with her paternal grandmother, Wendy O’Connor.
The court heard a motion to seal the documents in the ongoing case that took Cobain, 17, out of her mother’s custody. An aunt, Kimberly Dawn Cobain, has also been appointed temporary guardian. The Cobains are seeking to have the documents sealed. The papers state: “The merits of this motion cannot be fully argued here without disclosing the contents of the documents to be sealed.”
Love has had a wild and drug-ridden past but in recent years has strived to put her life back in order. In recent months, however, she was noted to have lost a lot of weight on a drastic diet and reported to be in dire financial straits. Love’s attorney said she has not had a drug relapse and the case “is simply about Frances preferring to live with her grandmother”.
