Coldplay has selected the song “Paradise” to serve as the official second single to come off of their fifth studio album “Mylo Xyloto”. The track sounds very pop and catchy as compared to the rock band’s first single “Every Teardrop is a Waterfall”. It’s fantastic! I think Coldplay can achieve better results with this new single. Some may argue that this is not a very Coldplay track but you have to understand that it’s been years since they hit the scene. They’re allowed to experiment and evolve with their music. I like it and I wish them success with it. What do you think?

After a long 5-year hiatus, Evanescence has made a return to the music scene with their much-anticipated third studio album “Evanescence”, which is set to hit stores on October 11. The rock band recently premiered the music video for the first single “What You Want”. It’s basically a performance video mixed with random scenes of the band members wandering through an empty city. They ultimately head over to the see where they submerge in. I don’t know. It’s okay, I guess. It’s not going to help push the single any higher though, as it has so far peaked at #68 on the Billboard Hot 100.

My Chemical Romance drummer Michael Pedicone was fired from the rock band after he was caught stealing from them. Now, he has opened up about what he’s done and is saying that it was the “poorest decision of [his] life.” Michael said in a blog post “Almost as soon as I began touring with MCR I ran into problems with a member of the band’s crew who I’ll not name… Rather than address the issues that I had with the crew member in an open and honest manner, I tried to make them look irresponsible. My intention was to make this person look incompetent. I had no intention of profiting whatsoever. Again, I cannot overstate how poor my judgment was in this situation; it was a tremendous mistake, and it’s one I’ll regret for years to come. I’d like to thank MCR’s members, crew and supporters for giving me some of the best musical experiences of my life in the past several months. However brief our partnership, it was an honor and a dream come true to play with such a talented bunch of individuals.”
Liam Gallagher has joked that he could have ended up flipping burgers if he hadn’t formed a new group after the end of Oasis. He and brother Noel called time on the band after a backstage fight in Paris, and Liam said that he went on to form Beady Eye because he couldn’t have done anything else. “I think I wasn’t in a band for about one beer. That’s how long it took,” he told the Daily Star. “People need us. We need it. I mean, what else was I going to do? Work in McDonalds?” And he added that he doesn’t care if people have a distorted view of who he actually is. “I don’t give a f*** what they think of me to be honest,” he said.
Nickelback has a new album called “Here and Now” coming out way on November 21. It’s been 3 years since Nickelback released an album and lead singer Chad Kroeger assures fans that they won’t be disappointed. He said “We’re four people who love making music, the way we like to make it. We entered the studio this year with a vision, and it all came together. We’re extremely happy with the results, and can’t wait to share them with our fans.” The rock band’s seventh studio record will include the two new singles that will be released later this month, “When We Stand Together” and “Bottoms Up”. You can expect to hear those new songs on pop and rock radio stations on September 26.
Music mogul Simon Cowell has opened up about his sex life in a new radio interview with DJ Howard Stern. The 51-year-old admitted he had had a threesome and slept with celebrities. But Simon went strangely quiet when asked about his fiance Mezhgan Hussainy and said that he was ‘not sure’ if they were engaged. Asked how many women he’d had at once, the X Factor boss said: “Do you mean like a threesome? Well, years and years ago…I mean a long, long time ago, I was with these two girls and ended up in bed. “It was a lot of fun.” Cowell then squirmed as he was asked about his engagement. He said: “If we were having this conversation off the radio I could have a normal conversation.” Howard added: “Pretend we are not on the air. Why is the question, ‘Are you engaged?’ so painful to you?” Simon replied: “It is something I would need to say to you off the radio. It just is.” He went on to say he was ‘not sure’ if he was engaged to Hussainy, adding: “I do get embarrassed talking about these things publicly.” However, he did say he still loves his ex Terri Seymour, and also revealed he had a ‘bizarre kind of blind date’ with a heavily pregnant Denise Richards. A spokesman for the star said: “To my knowledge there are not any problems [with their relationship].”

For the first time ever, you can now get Aerosmith’s back catalogue in digital form on iTunes. The deal was reportedly worth millions so people best be buying it! On Tuesday, the rock band’s Columbia Records catalog became available on iTunes, with the collection including 10 albums from 1973-1987. The agreement between Apple and Columbia follows in the footsteps of an earlier deal between the retailer and The Beatles’ label EMI in November 2010. According to the New York Post, Aerosmith will pull in millions from the partnership. It’s an extremely smart move on their part. I wonder who else will have their catalog on iTunes soon.
In a recent interview, Good Charlotte has announced that they won’t be making any new music for a while. Guitarist Benji Madden said “We’re stepping away from the grind of making records and touring for a minute, just to have fun and be creative like we were when we were 15.” But before going on their hiatus, the band plans to release a free mix tape. Lead singer Joel Madden said “We’re already having a blast in our studio with all these new artists making music just for fun. And the mix tape’s free, they’re going to get it for free, there’s no quota we’re trying to fill, there’s no machine we’re trying to fuel, we just want to make music with new artists and god bless EMI, they let us do what we want.”
Green Day lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong claims that his sagging pants cost him a seat on a Southwest Airlines flight. The rock star took to his Twitter recently, expressing indignation at being tossed from a flight for wearing his pants too low, saying “Just got kicked off a southwest flight because my pants sagged too low! What the f***? No joke!” An ABC7 news producer on the same flight told the station that a flight attendant approached Billie Joe as the plane was getting ready to take off and asked him to hike up his pants. He initially responded by asking the attendant if there weren’t “better things to do than worry about that?” But the attendant persisted and told Billie Joe that he could be ejected for refusing to comply. When he insisted he was just trying to get to his seat, Billie Joe and his companion were taken off the flight. What?
If you’re in the US, you’re going to have to wait until tomorrow to sample Google’s homepage Google Doodle tribute to the late Queen singer Freddie Mercury on what would have been the rock star’s 65th birthday. But if you live elsewhere, when you go to the Google homepage and click “play”, it will launch a YouTube video with an animated romp to the tune of Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now”. A second click will bring you to the results page of a Freddie Mercury search. Google employee Jennifer Hom told NBC that she and other illustrators took 3 months to pull the video together. Apparently, the US won’t get to see this until tomorrow due to a conflict with Labor Day.

My Chemical Romance drummer Michael Pedicone, who replaced Bob Bryar in March 2010, has been fired from the rock band after he was caught stealing after Friday night’s show in Washington. Guitarist Frank Lero announced in a statement “The relationship between My Chemical Romance and Michael Pedicone is over. He was caught red-handed stealing from the band and confessed to police after our show last night in Auburn, Washington. We are heartbroken and sick to our stomachs over this entire situation. The band has no intention of pressing charges or taking this matter any further than we have to. We just want him out of our lives.” Wow! I wonder if this would affect plans of recording a new album.
Lindsey Buckingham has a solo album coming out next month. But even with his own project getting ready to take flight, the music icon is still thinking towards the future, in particular a reunion with his Fleetwood Mac band mates next year. According to the rock star, there is a good chance that the band will not only tour but also put out a new album in 2012. Lindsey told Rolling Stone “We’re doing something for sure. I wouldn’t be shocked if it was a tour and possibly an album. We’ll have to wait and see. Nothing is on the books right now. With Fleetwood Mac, there’s a lot of landmines out there politically and it’s hard to get everybody on the same page at the same time – but I think this might be one of those years where everyone will want to do the same thing. Whatever that is.” I am excited!
Sebastian Bach’s New Jersey home was destroyed by Hurricane Irene over the weekend. A reservoir located on the other side of the rock singer’s home overflowed, which sent a bridge crashing into his property. After losing all his personal items, including master tapes, videos and years of rock memorabilia, Sebastian said that he feels numb after losing his home of 21 years. He wrote on his Facebook page, saying “Original Skid Row and Kiss fans, I have bad news for you. Gone are irreplaceable items, such as my Kiss Gargoyles from the 1979 tour. Kiss pinball machine. Skid Row master tapes, video and audio… We will salvage what we can, of course. But how I wish there was a reason to do a box set or something before Hurricane Irene hit. Nobody cared. Now it’s too late. Don’t know what you got till it’s gone, indeed. This has really taught me that the best things in life are indeed ‘free.’ What makes me happy is that my children and ex-wife are safe. My dad’s art is unharmed. No one got hurt.”
My Chemical Romance has revealed that they’re working on a new album. The rock band admits that their last studio effort “Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys” wasn’t their best work. Lead singer Gerard Way explained that after the success of their third album “The Black Parade”, they suffered from a burnout. And after losing drummer Bob Bryar, they scrapped 28 songs before finally agreeing on what they released. He said “It was a record that went against everything about the band that was great. Which was like having ambition, being ambitious, being visual, being artists, being excited, being free, reckless and rock ‘n’ roll. That stuff was gone and what was in its place was really boring. We’re writing music every day at the moment, which was something that wasn’t happening on Black Parade. The thing is that the band was in a really unhealthy place when Black Parade ended and now the band is in such a healthy place that there’s no more ‘I want to run away’ or ‘It’s about me’. Now it’s like this is what I do and I want to do this for the rest of my life. Everybody’s so happy.”
Red Hot Chili Peppers have released the video to promote their newest single, Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie.
Inspired by the legendary representation of The Beatles on the roof in 1969, the band filmed the video on the highest buildings in Venice Beach, California.
The video was directed by Marc Klasfeld.
`We were a little afraid because we were not prepared with any safety mattress. We found the location just at the last minute, and we enjoyed the panorama. If we would have happened to fall, we would have died and that’s it ‘said the director.
Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie is the first single from the highly anticipated album, ‘I’m With You’, first album released by Red Hot Chili Peppers after their successful disc ‘Stadium Arcadium’ in 2006.
The song dominated the major charts since release. Watch below the latest video released by Red Hot Chili Peppers – Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie:
Arctic Monkeys believe that the success of the band and their longevity is because they were all very good friends beforehand the band was formed.
Arctic Monkeys band members believe that they being friends since childhood has kept them together, thus being no fights or misunderstandings between the members. They have known each other long before the band was formed and this seems to be their secret.
The four British, Matt Helders, Jamie Cook, Nick O”Malley and Alex Turner know each other and have been friends since growing up together in Sheffield, which is, according to them, the main reason for having resisted pressure generated by fame.
“Our friendship has certainly had a word to say and united us. We grew up on the same street so we knew each other and went out together long before becoming a band. This helped a lot and so we could move more easily over difficult times. “says Alex Turner.
In autumn, the band My Chemical Romance will enter the studio to begin working on their fifth album.
MCR frontman Gerard Way said, during a concert in Chicago on Saturday, August 20, the band will not longer be in the spotlight for a while, as it will enter the studio to work on the new album as soon as their commitments come to an end, informs Nme.com.
Currently, My Chemical Romance is touring with the band Blink 182 and are headlining the Reading & Leeds festival to be held next weekend.
According to statements of the band members, Reading & Leeds festival participation would be the last one to promote the album “Danger Days – The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys’.
In April, they released a version of their hit ‘Sing’, called ‘Sing It For Japan’ to raise funds to help the Japanese population affected by the devastating earthquake in March.
Blink 182 recently premiered the music video for their comeback single “Up All Night” via VEVO. The track is the first single off of the rock band’s upcoming sixth studio album “Neighborhoods”, which is set to hit stores in the US on September 27th. Personally, I like the song. Blink 182 kept their trademark guitar riffs and unpredictable productions but the lyrics are more mature, which pretty much says that they have indeed grown up. Sadly, people aren’t responding well to the song. I guess everyone was expecting for them to be perennially childish. As for the video, it’s very Blink 182 but with a darker background. I like it! I hope more people back them up. I really love the direction they’re going.

Adam Levine slammed MTV in a Twitter outburst this weekend, dissing the network’s Video Music Awards. The Maroon 5 lead singer said “The VMA’s. one day a year when MTV pretends to still care about music. I’m drawing a line in the sand. [expletive] you VMA’s.” MTV made light of Adam’s slap down, inviting him to tune into the ceremony in a follow-up tweet, but the rock star was not amused and defended his bluntness. Adam tweeted “I may be a pop singer. but every once in a while the angsty teenager in me just blurts out some raw honesty. it’s a reflex.”
