These crystals are a bit of a puzzle and I'll do my best to explain why. I've had a type from Madagascar called Pink Amphibole Papaya quartz a few times now, and this year a friend of mine who went to the Tucson 2012 gem show delivered me a new type from Madagascar, Lemon Amphibole quartz. These are a lemony yellow color, unlike the pinks and oranges of the Pink Amphibole Papaya quartz. Then, further on into 2012 my favorite wholesaler has a one-off parcel of crystals, old stock I believe, that are Lemon Actinolite quartz from Madagascar. They have the same lemony color as the Lemon Amphibole quartz I received from Tucson…I wondered if these two types were the same (?) and had to find out so I purchased the parcel from my wholesaler.

The mystery part is the crystals are noncommittal as to whether they are Lemon Amphibole or Lemon Actinolite. They could very well be made up of both minerals but I have no proof. The only thing I do know is that both batches of crystals came from Madagascar and they are very rare. The other thing the crystals are very definite and unwavering on are that they share 2024 the same message. The newer parcel of Lemon Actinolite crystals say they have the *exact* same purpose and message as the Lemon Amphibole crystals from the Tucson 2012 show shared with me. Another reason I think they may be made up of both minerals and not one or the other. Both people I got these from would not misrepresent crystals and what they're made of, but it is possible the message of “all” the minerals they contain did not translate fully down the supply chain.

Each of you will have to make your own decision on this. I will be keeping the listings differentiated; the Tucson 2012 Lemon Amphibole crystals will be labeled as such and the other parcel of Lemon Actinolite crystals will be sold as such…each will have the same message though.

This is a bit of an unusual crystal that you can't really see the intricacies of in the photos. It is a Cathedral formation crystal. Typically with a Cathedral its smaller crystals wrapped up around the base of a main crystal like the spires of a Cathedral. (or castle) on this crystal, it looks like the smaller spire crystals kept growing and actually grew on top of the point of the main crystal and created another new little Cathedral city of points on top of that. Unusual and so much to look at once you really start turning in the light. This crystal has a nice saturation of Lemon Actinolite/Amphibole inclusions.

This crystal measures approx. 87 x 21 x 15 mm at it's widest points.

Know that these came to me as a batch of rugged crystals, meaning they are not perfect and will have their share of chips or dings on them of varying sizes. I never turn away rugged crystals like this, what some others may consider visually imperfect, because over the years they have provided some of the most unusual messages and have been some of the most powerful crystals I've come in contact with. ALL crystals and minerals are true blessings and companions for us, regardless of their physical appearance. Know this and truly believe this and what they'll give you in return at times will be quite amazing.

I'm feeling overwhelmingly grateful today as I sit to write the description of this particular crystal so you have to bear with me for a moment as I say most emphatically “I LOVE this job!” and send my heartfelt thanks to the universe for allowing me to do it.
