What a wonderful piece of Folk Art that was recently found at a western Pennsylvania estate sale. Handcrafted and handpainted wood rooster mounted on a black painted wood base. Painted an antique white, black wings and polar dots, red comb and waddle, mustard yellow beak and legs, pink eye ceres and a black dot for the eye. Distressed and chipped paint. I can't tell if the "aging" is a dark wax or natural patina; a great touch. Distinctive long legs raise the height of this rooster to 16" tall.
