Antique 18" Bisque doll circa the 1910s with antique leather body and made by Wiefel & Company, Germany

* hand-painted open mouth with ivory teeth
* painted upper and lower eyelashes and brows
* glass sleep eyes that work
* human/mohair wig
* head free of cracks, chips, or repairs
* leather body intact no loose parts, kid riveted jointed body
* back of neck: W & C 210, 2/0 mold number, Germany

Comes with a beautiful handmade silk bride/christening outfit, Lace Hat,
old bouquet and ribbon and flowers in hair
Hand sewn Pink silk dress (stain on it see photo)

The doll has been lovingly played with and is still in fantastic condition. The body has aged with slight peeling from the antique kid leather. I assure you this does not distract from this beautiful doll

PLEASE NOTE: It looks like there is damage to her stomach area, but there is not. No rips, tears, holes



HISTORY:

In 1912 Erste Steinbacher Porzellanfabrik was sold to Hugo Wiefel and 2024 renamed Wiefel & Company, thus a new doll mark was used of W & Co or W & C with or without a doll mold number.
By 1914 Wiefel's manufacturing was shut down because of World War I and restarted again in 1918, although it doesn't appear that bisque doll heads were resumed being made until around 1923.
