This type of silk is called Margilan silk, because it comes from only one place in the world - Margilan, Uzbekistan. Each scarf is meticulously hand-woven by artisans and craftspeople in Uzbekistan for the "Yodgorlik Silk Factory"; therefore, each scarf is unique with different variations in technique and weave. The slight variations and inconsistencies add to its uniqueness. People appreciate this silk for its handmade quality.

Colors were produced using dyes derived only from natural ingredients such as, walnuts, pomegranates, onions, and the indigo plant. No chemicals were used in the production of this silk. Colors are permanent and will not bleed onto clothing.


*Please note, steaming the silk scarf will stiffen it, but continuous wear will soften it back to its original texture.

For cleaning and maintenance - never put a silk scarf in the washing machine or dryer. For stains, gently spot clean with a damp rag and a small amount of liquid detergent. The scarf can also be steamed lightly to remove any wrinkles or unwanted odors. This silk should be ironed on the lowest silk setting with a towel on top of the silk to prevent damage — air dry.
Keep out of direct sunlight for extended periods as this can fade the colors in the scarf.
