Designed by the architects Benjamin Hubbel and Dominick Benes, the West Side Market opened in 1912 to help feed the rapidly growing city of Cleveland. In1973 the building was added to the National Register of Historic Places. The Market now boasts over 100 vendors inside the main concourse with unimaginable culinary diversity. In the September 2010 issue of Food Network Magazine, the Market was named America's "Best Food Lovers' Market," and it is a popular tourist destination as well.
