Antique Columbia County Map. Printed in 1850 in Albany. Complete title: A Map of the Towns of Livingston, Germantown, and Clermont in the County of Columbia. Compiled from Actual Surveys in January of 1798. John Wigram. 16.75" x 23.75". Engraved on stone by R.H. Pease.

This was very hard to photograph.

A wonderfully detailed map showing Ancram, Hudson's River, the Road to Albany, the Road to the Manor House, Taccaunick Mountains, Grist Mill Defiance, and MANY more wonderful places...some familiar names, some not. Many names of farms...some owned by the Rockefeller family, Ten Eyck, Shermerhorn (sp), Livingston, Ellison, etc.

This wonderful map was in a volume at some point in its history. We bought a volume that was "a breaker" that was not able to be rebound.

It had been folded within the volume.

There are some fold lines and a few places where the folded map touched some acidic material in the book, yielding some aged spots. Please see the images.

This map was far too large for our scanner.

The digital images were difficult to get, but I hope that you can see the many interesting and informative details of this stunningly beautiful upstate New York county. I wish the images were in better focus...the map is absolutely crisp and clear "in real life". If anyone would like me to send additional images, I could try to do that.

We will not refold, so the map will be sent full size, insured.

In good condition, except for the toning described in some spots. 2024

Never mounted or glued in any way....except tipped in to the original volume. No mat staining. It is being sold as it is.

Would be splendid framed.

This antique Columbia County lithographed map will be sent backed with an acid-free board to keep it flat and in a clear archival sleeve to protect it inside the outer packing.
