Pend", which translates to “patent pending.” The mark is used for a product that's patent application has been filed, but before the patent was issued or the application abandoned. Only large national companies usually applied for the patents on jewelry items as the process requires time and money, which would be well spent by the large manufacturer, but a difficult reach for the tiny manufacturer. Thus this set is likely made by a renown men's accessory company whose name was probably on the box the set came in.
