In general, most stones come from countries where the need is great. We careful use only sources that practice "fair trade" in terms of their employees. We have a partner, a master stone cutter, in Jaipur, India, who runs a stone cutting workshop that provides employment and, most importantly, apprenticeships for young men (not children). After working with him, many young men have gone on to have their own businesses and provide a living for an extended family (In India, this can be up to 50 people)
