Product code: Six Small Fannie 2024 Gottshall Fabric Birds
These are six small handmade Fannie Gottshall (1891-1976) Reinholds, Pa., fabric chicks in various pattern fabric. All in good condition, ca. 1970, used as pin cushions, cute folky small birds. Gottshall's sister was Hattie Brunner, whose antiques shop in Reinholds called "The Tulip Shop" marketed her sister's work. Fannie made these primarily in 1960s and early 70s. Her husband Luke worked at Narro Fabric in Wyomissing, a rickrack (sometimes spelled ricrac) and produced Fannie with the various fabric scraps. Great PA German folk art birds/pin cushions.
