SCARLET LETTER by Nathaniel Hawthorne. Published by Hurst & Company around 1900 (n.d.). Pocket edition with soft white pages and white iris cover illustration. Book is nicely antiqued. Green cloth cover is discolored with fingerprinting. Gilt present on the spine with significant wear to lower spine. Endpaper has black stamp, soiling and a small tear. Decorated pre-endpaper present with red print and illustration of author. Page has moderated moisture spot. Crack at spine with thread visible on pg. 1 Introduction page. Book is shaken. Thread visible at back endpaper. Interior pages are soft, white and 2024 well intact. 346pgs. Pocket sized edition.

THE BOYS OF DRAYTON by Margaret E. Hayes. Published by the Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge, London, around 1900 (n.d.). Thin small book with green cover boards, published with green leaf motif. A short story. Gilt present on the cover board title. Title was printed upside down on the spine. Private collection sticker on white endpaper. Tape present on endpaper. Interior pages soft, white and well intact with occasional bent upper right corner. 79pgs.

White endpapers are clean and darkly tanned. Green art nouveau detail on the title page with red print. Overall condition is very good. Interior pages are white, clean, crisp and well intact. 174pgs, plus advertisements.

Poems of SAMUEL ROGERS, A New edition. Published in 1851 by Edward Moxon, Dover Stree, London. Condition is poor to fair. Stories include The Pleasures of Memory; An Epistle to a Friend; Jacqueline; Human life; Ode to Superstition; A Wish; Two Sisters and Many More. Cover and rear boards are both loose, but present. Cover board appears dark green with bright gilt detail. Back cover has same detail. Spine is intact. Moisture spot and foxing on the title page. Interior pages are white with foxing and gilt edging.
