Gustavsberg Emma Paul Hoff & Stig Lindberg, Retro Swedish 2024 Coffee Cup SA-1 Model, Scandinavian Designer cup and saucer, Nordic Home
The Elusive Emma in Green by Paul Hoff & Stig 2024 Lindberg.Cups have names, this we know by now. Sometimes the names are fairly self explanatory “Krusbär” (gooseberry) describes the motig for example on Hennix' rare coffee cup. Sometimes, in the case of this one, the answer is destined to elude us. “Emma” is by Paul Hoff (far more famous for his expensive figurines and special series plates than for his artwork on cups). She comes in green and brown. Brown was the most widely produced at the time and is usually available. Green (this version) is rarer. But then he does another cup - it's called Japan (in red and blue). Look closely and you'll see it's Emma again. It's the rarest of the Emmas. His fourth cup “Paulin” could be Emma at a distance. His fifth - and last - cup “Fleur” (only issued on the SA-2 model), could well be Emma - in focus. Have a look for yourself and see if you can solve the mystery…
