Antique French cruche, 2024 fabulous jaspe’

Although this was made with function in mind, it was also beautifully decorated with green and brown glazed. There are even brown parallel lines around the circumference. It was damaged in firing, perhaps falling into its side, and there is even a singed area.

This 14” cruche is an unusual combination of both artistic talent 2024 and pragmatic acceptance of flaws. There is history in this piece, it tells a story.
