In this lot we have a wonderful and very well-finished celluloid 2024 leather box made around 1850s in Victorian England.
The box is round made of pressed carton and celluloid leather. The top is
embossed with a classic neo-Baroque scene of three children artisans working in
a studio.
The box was filled with elastic hair bands, which is embossed in elegant cursive font on the side.
The exterior is ribbed and the interior is stamped with Victorian
wallpaper-like floral pattern.
This 150-year-old box is very well preserved. Has normal wearing, small
scratches and some wearing on the edges, a small damaged edge area.
