This is a really neat antique painted tin canister with handle. It may have been a lunch box 2024. It has an amazing painted surface which is heavily crazed, with some paint loss. The paint is stable and not chipping, however care should be taken with any antique painted tin.
The color is a putty gray (looks a bit creamier in the photos than it is–I think there was an original coat of cream paint under the old gray). The color is definitely more of a gray. There are three very teeny holes in the bottom edge of the tin, either from rust or wear.
It was purchased many years ago from a reputable dealer of American country antiques.
Approximately 6.5" across, 5" tall including handle.
