An early printing of the classic Oz book, published by Reilly and Lee with the original color plates. Rinkitink was the tenth Oz book in the series, published in 1916 (under “Reilly and Britton”). This copy likely from the early 1920s, when they first changed over to “Reilly and Lee.”
Generally in very good condition with some light rubbing to the front cover, light dust from age, and a few tiny closed tears to the edges of a page here and there. Binding is in good shape with some weakening to the back hinge. Some light fraying/dubbing to the bottom edge of the back board.
This book previously belonged to Lucy Wilson (Benson) who served as undersecretary of State under Jimmy Carter and was a prominent figure as National President to the League of Women Voters. Her name is scribbled to the first page and neatly written in pencil to the nameplate.
