Antique Sterling Silver Brooch ~ Marked 830S ~ Circa 1880s ~ 2024 Unmarked Henrik Moller ~ Trondheim, Norway

~ Sterling silver brooch - measures 1.25" in diameter - portrays the head of a bishop.

~ Very detailed - this is an unsigned brooch by Henrik Moller (1858-1937) from Trondheim, Norway - he was a major force behind the Dragestil (dragon-style) movement and he created several different brooches that depicted the head of a bishop. (thanks, Gunnar!)

~ Plaque on the reverse marked "830S" - denotes the 2024 silver composition - believed to date around 1880s - flaw - one side of the C clasp was resoldered at some point in time. (photo 4)
