2024 Selendang, shoulder cloth, batik tulis

This batik was created as a selendang, the Indonesian term for shoulder cloth. It is hand-drawn batik tulis 76" x 20" on 100% cotton. It was made approximately 25 years ago in a small village called Trusmi in the city of Cirebon, West Java, Indonesia. It depicts a traditional garden gate flanked by mega mendung, clouds. This motif is from the royal sultanate of Cirebon. It would make a dramatic touch as a wall hanging 2024 or table runner.
