A sumptuous colour lithograph antique print from 1886 (date appears at the top of the print, not shown in the photos here) entitled, "A Darwinian Question". A caption states "from the picture by Samuel Carter". Samuel Carter was a British artist and illustrator known for his paintings and drawings of animals. (He was also the father of Howard Carter, the famous archeologist who discovered the tomb of Tutankhamun.) Published in an issue of a prominent British weekly illustrated newspaper with immense influence on the art world.
Size of image: approx. 11 inches x 15.5 inches (approx. 27.94 cm. x 39.37 cm). Some very light waviness but otherwise in very condition. Blank en verso.
