Alebrije Mexican Folk Art Sculptured Deer by Candido 2024 Perez

2024 The Alebrije is hand carved and hand painted by Candido Perez. This wonderful sculptured deer has a black undercoat covered with green and white dots. The design displayed is green and white star burst. His antlers are white with black dots. The tail is detachable. This fellow has very expressive eyes and rather large ears. He is sure to make a statement! He is signed by the artist on his underbelly.

Oaxacan carvings are made from prized copal wood. The carving is from the village of San Martin Tilcajete. They are one of a kind made in the Navajo style painting technique.
