This pendant features a cabochon of natural, untreated chrysoprase. The stone measures 1.03 x 0.63 inches (2.63 x 1.61 cm) and is set in sterling silver.

Chrysoprase is one of the green varieties of chalcedony. Unlike its darker green cousin mtorolite, its bright neon green color is derived from diffuse inclusions of nickel. It is found in a few locales, including Poland and Brazil, but the most major find has been in Australia. These gems occur in seams, and range from a light leek green to a rich, neon green. The best material has an appearance almost identical to the finest imperial jade, and as such it has become very popular in China.

This stone is an interesting example. It shows a rich, imperial 2024 jade green marbled with pure white quartz. It is a very interesting, beautiful variety. I cut this stone myself.
