Kalocsa folk emboridery is maybe one of the most famous and well-known representative of traditional Hungarian folk embroidery. Also abroad many people can recognize its bold colored, floral motifs. However that style developed because of local 2024 people making embroidered goods for sale, and not for themselves. This book is about the roots of Kalocsa folk embroidery art, collecting authentic, mainly monochromatic motifs, which were used on everyday items of Kalocsa people. A softcover book with 32 pages of text in Hungarian and drawings on the history of local embroidery art, plus 78 pages of patterns, including many double-size fold-out pages.
