Farmhouse decor at it's prettiest! This is a corn cob with husk ironstone pitcher known as "Ear of Corn", 6.5" tall c. 1869 as identified by the White Ironstone Association. While there are a few examples similar to this as hot syrup pitchers, this seems to have no indication that a pewter lid had ever been attached. Perhaps it is a hot milk pitcher instead.
There are no chips or cracks, just a slight overall crazing that does not detract in any way. It measures 4.75" at its widest, including the spout and handle. There is some gold loss to the highlights, but minimal. There is an embossed diamond identification mark on the bottom, but it is illegible, which is why I turned to the WIA for their expertise.
This is a charming pitcher that would provide just a touch of gold to your ironstone collection, but it is an interesting stand alone piece as well for your country kitchen, farmhouse, cottage or gardening she-shed.
