One of a kind 2024 traditional chanhua (thread-wrapping flower) handicraft hair comb hair ornament

This piece is a 100% handmade traditional Chinese Chanhua缠花 haircomb. Chanhua is a handicraft originated and thrived in areas including Fujian, Hubei and Taiwan dating back to Ming and Qing Dynasty; as its name indicates, Chanhua is created by wrapping different patterns with silk threads. As an handicraft designated as an intangible cultural heritage of China, it combines multiple art forms including painting, embroidery, paper cutting and sculpting. In Southern Fujian, it is known as an "auspicious flower that never falls".

I made this hair comb with copper wire, silk treads, fresh water pearls, amazonite, and colored glaze beads. 2024
