Dream Catcher - Purple Skull with Teal Roses 2024 on a Twisty Vine Wreath

Traditionally Dream Catchers are hung above a sleeping area to catch bad dreams. The bead that represents the spider "eats" the bad dreams. The good dreams are allowed through and slide down the dangling feathers and fringe tail to enter the mind of the sleeper as they sleep. This Dream Catcher frame is dried twisty vine harvested from the lakes in our neighborhood. I hand-dyed the crocheted Skull. Dyed hemp cord was used to weave the web. Silk roses & leaves were used to accent the weave with dried moss and amethyst spears nestled around the flowers. The fringe is variegated crochet yarn with dyed chicken feathers and amethyst spears as accents. An amethyst spear represents the spider bead.
