This navy blue and white ceramic pomegranate is glazed in a cascading design that is so special. It is adorned with a leather accent which holds a metal charm and rich blue tassel. The pomegranate is a symbol of plenty and boundless blessings.

In Jewish tradition the pomegranate is a symbol of prosperity, abundance, love and marriage, fertility, beauty, motherhood and a happy future. Grown in the Mediterranean region for several thousand years, the pomegranate is rich in symbolism. There are specific references to the pomegranate in the Bible. Because the pomegranate is so rich in history and symbolism, pomegranate gifts are appropriate for many occasions. This ceramic object makes a perfect gift for newlyweds, a housewarming, a Jewish New Year's celebration or simply for display.

Ceramic pomegranates can be used as vases for dried flowers, or as incense holders. Most people enjoy collecting pomegranates in different colours. They look very striking when displayed in groups.

The pomegranates are cast from white liquid clay using a handmade plaster mold from Israel. Once out of the mold, the pomegranate is hand shaped and the crown of the pomegranate is cut. After it has had its first firing in the kiln, the pomegranate 2024 is glazed and fired in the kiln for the second time. Please note that this is a handmade object and any roughness, unevenness or scratches are made by my hands. You can examine and touch the pleasant texture that was created manually. This is not a defect! Because my pomegranates are handmade, slight differences in color and dimensions will occur in the making and baking process. No two will be perfectly identical and each is one of a kind.
