1000 Butterflies Saucer Plates. If not a thousand, at least a plethora of butterflies, gorgeously hand painted on thin translucent porcelain from China ca. 1890. The saucer is covered with panels of black bordered butterflies hand painted in vivid polychrome enamels with a gold background and Chinese red edging. The saucers each feature an ornate edging with four points added for extra detailing. The bottom of the saucer is stamped CHINA in red paint. The saucer is 5 3/8" diameter. Condition is excellent. No chips or cracks. Some discoloration on the backside of plate. Set of 5 2024.
