Stained Glass Saturn Suncatcher / Wall Hanging 2024 / Decor - Purple & Orange

Handmade Saturn suncatcher/wall decoration made out of colour changing, marbled purple & translucent yellow/orange stained glass. This piece is made using really special glass, which drastically changes colour throughout the day when hung in a window (depending on the light & where it's coming from!) When the light is coming from the front, the piece is predominantly purple (varying in brightness according to the lighting) however, when it is backlit it changes to a vibrant, glowing orange with green/blue & yellow streaks through it, making it hard to believe it's even the same glass! This piece is finished with copper solder lines & you can choose to have it strung on fishing wire or black jewellery suede. How it's made:
Everything I make is drawn & designed by myself, then cut out of sheets of stained glass by hand (using glass cutters & special pliers). Next, I grind the glass down to the perfect shapes & sizes, before the edges of each individual piece are carefully wrapped in conductive, copper foil tape. Finally, the bits of glass are soldered together to create the finished design before being cleaned & polished.
Due to every sheet of stained glass being slightly different & each product being made by hand, all of my creations are unique, even if I make duplicates of the same design with the same colours!

What is Venus' Flower Basket?:
One of the few kinds of naturally formed glass on the planet, Venus' Flower Basket is a type of glass sea sponge (which looks similar to coral) that lives deep down in the pacific ocean. Often acting as a glass house to a pair of mating shrimp, it also harnesses bioluminescence & has fibre optic technologies. The glass structure is super thin & intricate, yet flexible & stronger than steel! Scientists are still researching these sponges to figure out how they are able to create their glass skeletons under the water, without using heat & say it is 'far beyond human technology'.

Take Care:
* Solder can lose its lustre over time
* Dust as/when needed with dry cloth or duster
* Wipe with a damp cloth and gently with a dry, soft cloth
* To restore shine: Rub a SMALL amount of polish or wax over the piece & then gently buff off with a dry, soft cloth
* If your product is a planter or being kept outside, please keep slightly elevated from the soil so that the solder isn't sitting in water/damp (they are waterproof but will corrode if the water cannot run off)
* Take jewellery off when showering/bathing

Be Aware:
* Please handle gently, being careful not to apply too much pressure or drop on hard surfaces as glass can break easily
* Avoid using suction cups to hang pieces on windows & mirrors as they often fall off unpredictably! (Use a strong fixture such as a nail into the window frame/wall instead to keep your piece safe and
secure)
* Do not hang above cribs or in nurseries
* Solder contains lead which can be harmful if ingested. Therefore, keep out of reach of babies/young children (who tend to put things in their mouths!)
* Avoid excessive handling/touching & wash hands after

* All jewellery, coasters etc are made using lead free solder for your safety *
