A fine and very elegant necklace of natural almandine garnets that is unusually long for this classic style. The beads are rich in color, gleaming beautifully with change of light.
The stones have the attractive hue typical of Ceylonese almandine garnets; not red but deep mulberry, plum wine with flashes of hot purple-pink.

The Stones
Almandine garnets, matched for graduated size and color, strung on red thread which enhances the color beautifully. The thread is waxed linen or cotton - not nylon - and the necklace has a barrel clasp that screws securely closed.
Sizes:
Necklace Length - 57cm or just over 22 inches
Bead diameter: 5mm in the center, graduating to 4mm at the clasp

Necklace: 31.3 grams. The nicely weighted string drapes perfectly.
Condition:
Excellent. Glossy polished stones, well matched for color. The screw in barrel clasp is working perfectly and there is no sign of fraying.
