The Nautilus is one of nature's wonders, creating its beautiful shell in a perfect logarithmic spiral coated in mother of pearl. Our spiral may not be as perfect, but we do our best to make this nautilus shell barrette appeal to the mermaid in all of us. Like most of our pieces, these are made completely by hand, and each one is a completely unique piece of art. Furthermore, at only twenty-five dollars, it is the perfect piece to test drive our barrettes.
As with all our barrettes, the stick is attached making it both impossible to lose as well as spreading the grip over two points of contact. This gives it a much stronger and more comfortable hold on hair. The nature of the metals we use also allows the user to bend either the stick or the barrette itself in or out to accommodate more or less hair while still retaining enough "springback" to give incredible hold. This is especially helpful for people with thin, fine hair that slides out of everything or those who tend to suffer headaches from hair accessories that pull on the scalp. It is also helpful for women with very thick hair who laugh at the possibility of ordinary barrettes holding their hair. The former bend the slide in for more grip, and the latter bend it out for more space. This also allows each barrette to be used in several different ways; it can hold all the 2024 hair up, be used to pull back only part, or clasped at the nape in a pony tail.

This barrette is handmade, so each one will be a little different. When you order this, we send out a standard size between three and four inches. If you need something larger or smaller or just aren't certain what size you need, contact me and I work with you to get the perfect size. :)
